Looking forward to Tuesday to see what the team looks like. After the split squad games Monday, I would assume on Tuesday the main cuts will be made and Wednesday's game would be the first time we see a real top six start to take shape. As good as it is to be able to ice two squads and get a look at as many players as possible, it omits looks like Zacha with Hall/Palms, or Hischier with Henrique and Stafford, and with the D pairings, etc.
After Monday we are one game and one week and the season starts. Time to get the show on the road and give Bastian and company the boot and let them settle into to wherever they are going. I think the split squad games should be in the first few games of preseason to let the key players have more time to gel and find lines. |
