The difficult thing is, there's a near-certain chance Trump is going to make them out to be supporting whatever crazy things he says. The Pens are now a Trump tool whether they support him or not. It's a hard ask to be a-political when both pro-Trump and short-sighted anti-Trump people (and Trump himself) are saying that you're supporting him by showing up. By staying out of it, they're also actively distancing themselves from the people taking a stand whom they may silently agree with.

I have no doubt that they're genuinely a-political, but they're not necessarily in a spot where that is a real option. Not saying no may come back to bite them anyway, even after all the professionally outraged people move on to their next thing.

The recreationally outraged are nothing if not short in attention span and conviction/integrity. They will move on. Anyways I'm happy to talk politics with anyone in PMs but I don't want to clog this thread anymore.

So 2 EN & 2 goals in 2 minutes??

Sounds like a pre season game.

I would just love a day where we don't hear anything about Trump or politics. It's Hockey time.

Kudos to the Penguins organization for taking the high road on this. Folks on one side of the aisle were probably bashing them for going to visit the White House when Obama was still in, but now everyone can just shut up since they're going no matter who is in. They were quite clear in their statement that they are respecting the tradition, and that's all they need to say. It's a visit from a sports team, it isn't any sort of political statement. Visiting when Obama was in didn't automatically mean they collectively support the Affordable Care Act or any of Obama's other policies, any more than it means they support the things Trump says on Twitter daily.

And honestly, for anyone complaining about Trump, why? He's exactly what we as a society deserve. BOTH sides of the aisle are responsible for where we are today.

Like Letang which was the one positive of the game. Don't care that we didn't bring our A-game to a preseason game but last night really drove home that we have no internal option at 3C and our bottom six is gonna suck until we get that piece, and even when we get that piece our fourth line may suck regardless. Reaves is bad and Rowney is a good call up but shouldn't be an NHL regular.
