You are 100% correct that Trump put them in a bad spot. Pens need to be as clear as possible that they are an a-political organization who respects the ideological determinism of each individual. Also state clearly that regardless of how slimy parasitic 'journalists' and media personalities would like to frame it, their choice was based entirely on honoring a tradition and does not indicate any political beliefs.

The difficult thing is, there's a near-certain chance Trump is going to make them out to be supporting whatever crazy things he says. The Pens are now a Trump tool whether they support him or not. It's a hard ask to be a-political when both pro-Trump and short-sighted anti-Trump people (and Trump himself) are saying that you're supporting him by showing up. By staying out of it, they're also actively distancing themselves from the people taking a stand whom they may silently agree with.

I have no doubt that they're genuinely a-political, but they're not necessarily in a spot where that is a real option. Not saying no may come back to bite them anyway, even after all the professionally outraged people move on to their next thing.

Amazing pass by Sid, but that play doesn't happen if not for the great play by Sheary.

I would just love a day where we don't hear anything about Trump or politics. It's Hockey time.

Trump should stay out of sport and stick to politics.

Anyone else think that Reaves has had a pretty mediocre pre-season thus far? He's been largely unnoticeable.

Reaves man... just not a good hockey player. Was hoping on the small chance he could flourish in a speed base system but he seems at about his depth here with the Blues not fielding their full roster of NHLers. That bottom line of Rowney-Reaves is gonna really struggle this year. We're gonna miss Cullen a lot.

It's just pre-season, but yeah, I wasn't wild about the move to begin with and he has looked like a non-factor.

Hopefully his game will pick up as the season goes on.

ZAR just doesn't look ready to me. All things considered he's looked fine, but just not ready to handle top-line play.

I'd be fine with him and Sprong starting the season with the baby pens. I wouldn't mind the Pens taking a gamble on that Russian player Malkin wants to play with.

Nothing of note from ZAR, Bleuger, or Bengtsson. Think all three start in WBS.
