I think that you might see 2 moved by the deadline. Probobly to get a bigger return at 3c or on D. I could still see the Pens reeling in Duchene.

I think it will depend on how the Pens start the season, if they struggle...could see a move sooner, if they come out and i don't know, start the season like 22-10 or something, they will probably tend to keep things the same for a bit longer.

Pouliot has been just bad. If JR can actually get a roster player for him it's a win.

Yes, Yes and Yes...Niemi made a barehanded save...because loss of equipment is no longer and automatic whistle, unless its the mask. He actually looked pretty good tonight, made some really good saves.

Looks like he got peppered on the score sheet. Good to hear. Hopefully he can give us some solid back up play.

I'm curious...Why are people saying that this Sheahan thing is pretty much a done deal?

Funny to see the Jets have had a retired ref advise the players on how to take less penalties.

(frank) that, I could have told them.

STOP TRYING TO DECAPITATE THE OPPOSITION PLAYERS & YOU WONT GET PENALISED Richard HEADS!

There was a stream, it had no play by play but it was available. Pouliot was good in the first. Had a give away and had to take a penalty in the second. And good again in the third. He looks to carry the puck and doesn't just blast it out of his end. He skates with his head up and makes good passes. He just looks unconfident and tentative all the time. That's a coaching issue.

Because Elliot Friedman says so and just because he admits he's just guessing everyone takes it as a sure thing.

Yep, Niemi asked why no whistle. Ref explained why it didn't stop.

I pretty much agree with this. I don't agree that the Pens botched his development. Not at all. Kid is not a hard worker. I've read that from many sources the last couple of years. DP can handle slower paced games. It's when the speed and intensity goes up a notch he looks fn awful.

Sheahan is a good gamble imo.

I am lukewarm on Sheahan....but if the price is Pouliot I'd go for it.

I used to like the idea of Pouliot/Virtanen and this trade isn't much different, just giving us a center.

I'll never forget his scouting report on hockeys future:

Pouliot is an exceptionally mobile offensive defenseman with elite vision and puck-distribution skills. He has a blistering shot from the point, can transition the puck with his head up, and can play a lot of minutes in all situations. Although not a tall player, he is bullish in the corners and difficult to knock off the puck. He possesses a strong, wide base and is an explosive skater who is able to quickly rush the puck up ice. Outside of getting stronger and faster, which is something that practically all prospects need to do, there is little in Pouliot’s game that could be considered a weakness. He will need to continue to improve his defensive play, but his game will always be predicated around creating offensive chances and taking some degree of risk.

that is because he DID play that way in juniors. he also played like that the first few games in the nhl then went down a drain and drowned and never came back up
