First off its Duchene... Learn to spell his name right. Every Sens fans does this.
Second off...there is no indication that Duchene demanded a trade
Third off...you have Bobby Ryan and Dion Phaneuf so lets slow your roll about hypothetical albatross contracts

I would hate hate hate Duchene to the Sens, just bc of posts and takes like this. He deserves to win, not be part of a pinny penching trapping boring team

- DDM-Coga

I don't think that's really fair, I'm a Sens fan and I've always spelled his name the proper way... Duchene. Jeeze Coga way to lump us all into one group, I thought we were friends lol

There is no doubting we have bad contracts like Ryan and Dion. Ryan's I don't like but I think paired with Duchene and Hoffman, he would do much better.

Dion I actually don't mind at all, he has worked out much better than anyone thought, brings tons of leadership and stability for the D.

I actually agree with most of what you said, I would love to see Duchene in a Sens jersey but for EM to pay for him would be tough. That's my biggest problem with the Sens, ownership and our GM

You have Alfiessalad to blame for that, he has given Sens fans on this site abad name. If you join the movement to make him own up to his bet to delete his account. All will be forgiven.

If Sens do get Duchene, its a sign that Turris is gone. No way they shell out big bucks to resign him, add Duchene, and keep brassard.

I dont think Sens have ever been in the top 10 in salary in the league. THye need to win now to keep EK around to show they are serious but that means opening up the wallet for the first time or in a very very long time

Kerfoot Duchene Yaks
Landy Mack Sven
JT Jost Rants
Nieto Wilson Comeau

What bet is this?

I see in your name it says " If Chabot is not in the NHL, Ill revoke my account - AlfiesSald"

To be fair Chabot is likely to be in the NHL this season and if that was the bet I don't see a deadline on it lol.

I actually go the other way, I think if they were to get Duchene, I think that means JPG is gone, because we just got Thompson as our #4C (Until White or Brown are ready to go), and having Duchene #1C, Turris in his proper #2C position where he thrives the best and Bras as our #3C. That's a ton of depth down the middle, that the Sens could use.

I'm actually stoked for the Avs right now, they went out and got Yak. Something I said the Sens should have done years ago. He could be a 30+ goal guy if treated properly.

He guaranteed he would be on the Sens last year and I told him there is no way that is going to happen bc the Sens are too cheap to put someone on a NHL money contract in the AHL to make room for him.

And behold we were right, but he wont man up on his bet.

My guess its Nieot and Colborne getting healthied if he does. They need Soderberg to come back to life.

I can see 14 fwds and 7 D if thats the case.

Well that's not very nice lol

Well don't lump us all into that. I agree Chabot was ready for the NHL last year. I think because of how they rushed guys like Cowen and Weir into the line up. I think they are taking it easy with Chabot. He's one of the best prospects out there so they want to make sure they get it right like they did with Karlsson.

I do think he'll be in the line up full time this year. I'd like to see him paired with Dion as a #2C behind Karlsson.

Or, alternatively, Duchesne is benched for prolonged periods of the season for demanding a trade and puts up less than 20 pts by the deadline making his contract an albatross no one will touch with a ten foot clown pole.

Speculating and theorising about future scenarios is fun, all subjectivity and no probability needed because we all just express our own opinion of what will happen regardless of what evidence says. It's as effective in politics as it is in sports discussions.

I hope you get a fair return for the guy, but this has been going on for way too long and Sakic is going to have a very, very hard time finding a deal that will get him what he wants.

Want to bet Eric Carlsssson on it? After all if Sens don't grab some Duchene caliber players he'll be gone anyways and you can enjoy the HB conversations then.

Of course you could just do us all a favor and delete your account now...

Soderberg seems to be slipping deeper and deeper down the depth chart. Maybe Roy will get hired to coach somewhere else and he can have him back

I'll learn to spell his name right if he actually gets traded here and I somehow find a desire to correct typos on a hockey forum, not bloody likely to happen though.

Til then, I hope you keep pointing out my spelling mistakes, cause that's the reason we're all here after all, to only talk about spelling and punctuation.

So when we finally do trade for DucheSne, I imagine Avs fans will be as happy with the return as we were when Dany Heatley got sent to SJ.

You will be upset until you realize you actually got the better performing player in the deal (Michalek scored more goals for us than Heatley scored for San Jose) which is normally how these package deals work out.

Why would we need to grab more DucheSne calibre players? We already have them with Stone, Turris, Hoffman, Ryan, Brassard and Pageau, who are already at his level or better and have 10x more playoff experience in their pinky fingers.

Stop thinking your players are the second coming of the hockey messiah, and I'll start to actually spell their names right. That's a workable deal, unlike any of the trade proposals thrown around on this board to date for DucheSne.

Haaaaa. Duchene would instantly slot in as Sens #1 center. Please, please, please keep drinking the koolaid.

I'm not the one making claims about how my team's players are better than anyone else on our roster.

Here's a list of DucheSne comparables over the last three years from Ottawa's roster and how they performed compared to him over that period

DucheSne:
GP: 235
G: 69
A: 86
Pts: 155
Pts/gm: 0.66
Sht. %: 12.2%
+/-: -39

Turris:
GP: 217
G: 64
A: 85
Pts: 149
Pts/gm: 0.69
Sht. %: 12.3%
+/-: -13

Turris > DucheSne, marginally

Hoffman:
GP: 231
G: 82
A: 86
Pts: 168
Pts/gm: 0.73
Sht. %: 12.3%
+/-: +34

Hoffman > DucheSne, and it's not even close.

Stone:
GP: 226
G: 71
A: 108
Pts: 179
Pts/gm: 0.79
Sht. %: 16.1%
+/-: +29

Stone > DucheSne, and it's not even close.

Brassard:
GP: 241
G: 60
A: 97
Pts: 157
Pts/gm: 0.65
Sht. %: 11.0%
+/-: +33

Brassard = DucheSne in output, but Brassard is significantly better defensively

Ryan:
GP: 221
G: 53
A: 82
Pts: 135
Pts/gm: 0.61
Sht. %: 10.3%
+/-: -7

DucheSne is slightly better than Ryan overall, but again slightly worse defensive game.

So, based on basic evaluation of results over the last 3 years, Duchesne would slot in to our top six forward group as a second line winger, barely. He is a good player, but as proven above we already have at least three better options available for line 1 plus even more coming in the pipeline in Logan Brown and Colin White in a year or two. Your claim has no basis in fact or reality, and everyone is dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
