Hello fella!
What's your take on the Czar?
He's kinda the same as Spooner cept he can shoot and he's cuter.
He also has chemistry with Vatrano.
Have you been at the scrimmages or games?
I'm (frank)in starving for your 2 cents on this player.
For what it's worth, I watched Postma tons in the dub. He was a great Junior player.
Oftentimes that doesn't translate into a great pro career, but he can play the game.
Mobile, hard shot, big body. He'll be a adequate injury replacement all season long.

Czarnik is good -- I just wonder what the ceiling is when the competition gets real. Bruins have too many third-line center options between him, Spooner, JFK, and Kuraly. Each player has their own warts. Tough to pick the perfect guy. New faceoff rules can really put Czarnik at a disadvantage given his size, too. He may very well have to do a split just to get down into a legal stance.

Thanks for the take.
Fine problem to have with the center depth.
Have you talked flat earth with Irving yet?

Haha not yet. I'll be at Celtics media day on Monday, then right to the Garden for preseason Hawks/Bruins.

You are one lucky sombytch.
How's Purcell look so far?
I kinda hope he can catch on with the club myself.

I don't believe Purcell will make it. Too many other options. If he's willing to start in the minors, however, maybe there's a fit. He's told me he had offers from the European leagues and that the Olympics intrigued him, but he really wants to stay here.

I think Purcell gets flat outplayed by most of the prospects at his position. I thought he would be an interesting 13th forward option instead of potentially keeping a young kid in the press box.

Well that's the big thing. I talked to Cassidy about this yesterday. If they keep one of these kids around, they want them to play. He's a bit more willing to have somebody like O'Gara be a seventh defenseman, for example, but he doesn't want to bring one of their high-end prospects up to be the 13th forward or 7th D.

O'gara as the 7th wouldnt be the worst thing in the world. Sounds like Cassidy already has a good idea of who he wants to play.

So..........there's a small chance he makes it?
He'd make a great Randell replacement. Minus the fighting and terrific shooting%.
I think he'd be handy to keep around.

yeah... but historically.. ( and yes, new coach,..relatively new management) they would go with the old veteran and send the young kid down. If you're looking at the final roster spot, a kid might get more playing time in providence anyway.

I just hope that if a kid beats out Purcell for a spot, they don't fizzle out quickly. I feel like Heinen last year, and Czarnik too just seemed to be good but it not convert into points. Whereas Purcell is a proven .5 ppg kind of guy.

I really hope Czarnik blossoms, I think he is a quick player with good hands. Maybe him splitting faceoffs with Spooner and Vatrano on the wing could work this year if all three are hungry..

Btw, what happened to Cehlerik. Haven't heard anything about him.

He had a pretty good run in providence last year. My guess is he will likely be in the top 6 down in providence. I believe he had shoulder surgery this summer. Havent seen him yet this preseason.

Expand your mind.
It's right there.
1 Flames need a new rink. A cup final would expedite the process.
2 I'm a Firm believer that ol JJ has one more service owed to him by Bettman.
3 He may or may not be a close relative of Satan's.
4 29% thc is a tad much for mornings.
5 dougie and glove try too hard.
6 where did that alpaca come from?

Not that I think Boston will win the cup this year but...

Vegas has them at +2500... Toronto is only +1300 (or around there I can't check right now)...

I understand that there is this hype for Toronto, but I don't think Toronto is a better team than Boston.

Boston has the edge in goaltending and defense hands down. Offense is kind of a toss up with Boston having better two-way forwards but Toronto with some young quick talent.

But I don't see a reason why Boston can't be a conference finalist with the team they have. Especially with how the rookies are looking.

- Videoj

I think its kind of hard to measure both teams and where they stand right now. I think Boston has more veterans and therefore will be more consistent, but I think its hard to argue Boston offense is better than the leafs. Although Boston's defence was plague with injuries last season, I still think you have the upper hand in defence and in nets. It's a bit of a toss up when trying to compare a team where half their stars are entering their sophomore year (usually those players have a hard time).

All i can say is that I am excited for season openers!
