I think that that he asked for this to come here, and not the leafs seeking him out is telling. Also seems weird that he's refusing to play games yet/scrimmage. Doesn't seem like he's sure he's ready yet.

Okay I didn't realize he wasn't playing games. That makes it a little difference.

I think Borgman has strong chance to be on the team when the puck drops for real.
Carrick has to step it up if he wants to play but might be in the 7th d spot.

From the extremely small sample size of watching each player play one meaningless game in preseason, I hope this is how it works out. If Polak is actually ready, I wouldn't mind him in Carrick's spot and maybe switching in to play when more toughness is desired. I'm not all that high on Carrick and the swedes just have to be better than Marinsuck. Just gotta be...

We'll see how everyone does the rest of preseason. I would like to see more of Dermott, although it seems likely he'll start in the AHL. I also hope to see more of Lillybust, although I bet he starts in the Marlies this year with maybe a callup if he plays well.

Mike Babcock had a few thoughts when he was asked today about Marleau potentially replacing Hyman with Matthews & Nylander.
