When they signed Marls I assumed they would play him with Matthews and wanted to see that, but the more I think about the lines they've shown so far, it makes sense to me.

Presumably you play Matthews a ton this year, don't make old man Marleau have to play all those minutes. Spread the weapons around the lineup. And then it's a pretty hard third line to match when you have Kadri and Marleau. It's like the Pens having Kessel on a third line. Then you have Marleau and Matthews playing PP together anyway. It's just like the Pens.

Hyman "gets the puck back better than anyone else".

The 'takeaway' stat shows him 7th among forwards on the team. I know it's a stupid stat, but when Matthews and Nylander have twice as many, it does cast doubt on the idea that Hyman is digging out the puck for them.
