I'm no millionnaire by any means so I primarily look for deals and try to get places I've never been. I'm a culture/food/drink kind of tourist so I'd pretty much go about anywhere that's new or 'exotic' or eye-opening.

If you want to go to China, look up Sinorama. it's basically a chinese government sponsored tourism site that has very affordable trips and tours. I know a few people who've gone with them, and they've loved the experience.

Also, if you're a costco member, and are going to rent a car wherever you're going, check out their travel page. Going back to Hawaii this december. Last time it cost me over 1000 for a jeep for 2 weeks. This time I'm going through Costco and getting a Convertible Mustang for 250/week.

Pro tip: don't get the convertible jeep if you go to Hawaii. Takes so (frank)ing long to get the top down/back up, and it rains like 10 times a day, so basically, you can't use the convertible top. Mustang, where you just press a button and it happens... so much nicer.

Not huge on organized tours but China would be cool.

I'd love to catch a flight/hotel to Shanghai and then just try to figure it out from there.

I would need to find a new job if that was the case, I couldn't do it. I hate the heat.

I can appreciate that, I've been all over Europe and I like art and architecture so places like Paris, Florence, Amsterdam, Venice, Vienna were amazing. Years ago did a trip through Scandinavia - it was amazing, the women in Finland were stunning. On this side of the pond, though, I would love to enjoy Mexico - rich in culture and history. I even have several friends that own property there and invite us all the time. I just can't though - too many tourist horror stories. I hear you about money -it is a factor. For me though, you save up your money and vacation time and it is precious- so I don't want to jeopordize it.

I've been to Puerto Vallarta about 6 times now.

100% safe, and it's just really franking easy. Airport is right there, so no 3 hour bus ride when you land.

Everyone says we should try other places, "Oh, you should go to X - we went and it was amazing!"

Yeah, I'm sure it was, but I know exactly what I'm getting with PV - and I see no reason to go anywhere else. I'm not looking for something different - I'm just looking for a week where I know I can chillax and recharge my batteries.

Sounds like you would like a trip down the Volga. It's beautiful in the summer.

Sounds great, Russia would be interesting, although I'm not fussy about the politics there, and for me its an issue. I've been on a few cruises, but prefer being on land. Love scuba, deep sea fishing is cool too. Never been to Russia.

What Island are you going to? On our last trip to Maui got a Sebring convertible - it's good enough, you can't exactly break speed records driving in Hawaii, - did the Hana Highway 4 times, then I read the insurance on the car rental and it said in big letters "Insurance Void on Hana Highway" Would do the same again, one of the most awesome drives ever.

would Babcock have been as much of a cheater if he signed with Buffalo?

is it fair to have the players playing in fear of Lehner killing them at any moment?

is it fair to have Garth spewing as much poop as he spews every day?

is it fair that we have to see pictures of Eichel in his f___ jorts posted by some deranged Sabres fan daily?

is it fair that we have to listen to the whining of the Sabres fans... about how hard they have it?

was it fair that Pronger was actually working in the league offices while still getting his player salary on LITR?

my goodness.... "the Leafs broke some rule"....

does living in upper New York state in the shadow of Toronto really cause that much angst? If the Leafs did break a rule.. .they would certainly have draft pick taken away or some other penalty...

rest assured if the Leafs broke a rule - and we all know already that Lou is way too smart - then the will give up a draft pick.... but that still won't get Buffalo McDavid... and the Leafs won't be giving up Matthews or Marner or Nylander (and yes the Leafs got the better brother)...

so just relax and let it go...............

If a beach isn't a necessity... then consider northern Italy, gorgeous country side, you can be as out doorsy as you want or not... and the food and drink is out of this world good... perfect cross over of Austrian and Italian cuisine... even crappy little hole in the wall places have great food. Took a driving / hiking vacation last year - fantastic.

This one of the coolest places on Earth for me. It's called "the seven sacred pools" Photos don't do it justice, you can see the single lane bridge overhead - the Hana Highway. The views are unbelievable - per the name there are seven pools of water - to swim and frolick in cascading down the mountainous rain forest into the Pacific Ocean.

Love it there, I have a friend that owns a small vineyard in Piedmont. I have to get back there soon. The food and wine there is spectacular.
