Vancouver looked good & actually scored on their PP. In 6 PP last nightie the 2nd period, they had a grand total of 6 shots in the whole period. I look at coaching & systems.

The system deployed in Pittsburgh would not work in Vegas, because they don't have the players in Vegas to succeed playing that way. There's no way to judge the system the Flames will roll out until the players it's been designed for are on the ice executing it.

It took about 8 months for the Elliott trade to be an undeniable loss. How many months have we had Lazar now?

The Hamonic trade was fine. Maybe looks bad one day, but its not like we were wasting picks on a rental.

The "draft picks are a lottery ticket" approach drives me nuts though. We spend millions more than other teams and are top 10 in the NHL for scouting budget. We shouldnt be throwing away top 50 picks.

You're right. We should just keep building by using draft picks to keep adding young guys that IF they become something do so after 4-5 years while the youth currently doing something become older and start to decline. Sitting pat is what keeps teams picking top 3 for over a decade and becoming an embarrassment to professional sports.

Bartowski should be the odd man out, he was brutal last night. Would like to see them keep Kulak and Anderson, we gotta start giving these guys a chance.
