I dunno man. I don't really see how Lupul would possibly think it was a good idea to "joke" on social media that the Leafs "cheat" and suggest him failing his physical was due to the medical team falsifying data. That isn't very funny and obviously going to get attention.

I still like the theory he was drunk. Maybe there is a grain of truth to the whole thing, or maybe he was just embarrassed he failed it and was lying, but either way, afterwards he realized what a terrible idea it was and deleted it. Now he is in damage control (or lou has a gun to his head).

- Thecakeisalie

He realized the reality was, passing the physical was not going to get him on with the Leafs, he'd be riding a bus playing with the Marlies

He's healthy enough to play, but as long as he goes along with this charade, he gets to make his 5.25 million sitting at home relaxing instead of grinding it out in the minors with no chance of a callup

This is definitely a possibility. It's also possible that despite him thinking he is "good to go", he legitimately failed the physical for some reason.

Whatever the actual situation is though, he was upset and used bad judgement (possibly because he was drinking or high) and he said what he said. Afterwards he realized nothing good would come from making his issues with the Leafs public. It would just antagonize the organization and possibly make him look bad to other hockey clubs as well. Just a better decision all around for him to let it die, collect his paycheck, then try to find a team next year.

I sure wouldn't know.
Mary Jane is still technically illegal in my province even though noone seems to give a (frank) anymore and there are honest to god stores selling the poop all over the place...

I have definitely done my fair share of stupid stuff while drunk, some of it even involving posting stuff online. Like the one time I tried to flirt with a girl I knew on facebook and accidentally messaged the wrong person.

I'm like a little kid on Christmas wanting this Leafs season to start. Like Hayes said on the lottery show, I'm in a headspace right now as a Leaf fan, that I've never been in before.

I don't even care about the details of lines or d pairings or preseason games, I just want to fast forward to regular season puck drop and what's gonna happen.

Like, since I've been watching the Leafs...there was the Pat Burns teams that were good, and for a few seasons there with the Sundin/Quinn teams you went into the season thinking they are a strong contender although not the favourites.

This is the first time where there's the possibility of a strong foundation for a long time, where they've actually built a good program.

I'm tweaking on the Blue stuff man, I took too much too much tight tight tight Go Leafs Go WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Plus the Leafs caught a few really good breaks, but holy (frank) they were DUE. Hockey Gods have to achieve balance with that poop.

Yeah, I don't know if I've ever been quite so excited and confident about the future of this team. They have a lot of great young players, some exciting prospects (Still can't believe we drafted Timothy Liljegren at #17), the coach is top notch and has had a noticeable impact on players like Kadri and Gardiner, there is just so much to be excited about.

I think the Leafs (assuming management continues making smart decisions) have a serious shot of winning a cup within the next several years. It's mindblowing compared to where we were just a couple years ago.

It's been a grand slam of a turnaround really.

And for ownership to give total control to Shanahan and not meddle like previous regimes has been massive. They have been using their financial resources to do things, but letting serious hockey guys build the team. That's different.
