While I would love to keep both DeAngelo & Pionk up here, I don't want a young kid sitting in the press box most of the season. Leave that to a Kampfer or Holden

Think Kampfer or Holden is the 7th depending if 1 gets traded. DeAngelo starts as a 3rd pairing and Pionk starts in the Pack(if he can)

Oh I agree.Again going back to Day, idk how bad of training camp he had to have in order to be sent down without seeing a game. That's kinda worrisome.

I don't know. DeAngelo has NHL experience although limited. Also don't know what DeAngelo's status is concerning waivers. If DeAngelo has to go through them I doubt he gets sent to the Pack.

It's likely only due to it being a numbers game with how many players that can be utilized sufficiently during the preseason, after first allowing enough playing time for their obvious top four. There is limited time among the others for experiment in filling out the bottom three spots not set yet in stone. That includes besides a 39 NHL games experienced Deangelo, the use as well for possible showcasing means among Staal, Holden, & Kampher. In addition, they know which prospects are the front runners for those 5th to 7th spots, who they need to judge further more than others like Sean Day at this point. But Day is part of their back line depth that can be used later to acquire help up front, especially at center should Miller not work out well there.

Honestly better than Wednesday and he's why. He's great away from the puck, while adding an assist on the PP. He and Buch are just really strong all around games tonight.
