Last nights Isles/Rags game was a pretty big indicator of what you said. Game was barely watchable. 20 penalties called. |

More to last thread's conversation, but Wilson is on Malkin and Kessel's line today. Looks lime he's getting a chance to start the year where he ended. Really open competition with him, Rust, and Hagelin, none of whom are really a top 6 guy. - Tojo.
I wouldn't read anything into that (at least for now). ZAR was the guy getting the opportunity with those two and he's playing in the game tonight so he wasn't at practice. Rust and Hags are playing tonight too. |

The same could be said about ZAR there. He was there for a few days of camp. Wilson has way more pro experience and experience with the organization and systems. Not saying that theres no way ZAR starts there opening night but its not uncommon for multiple people to be tried in multiple places in camps and preseason for the brass to see what they have right now, what they potentially might have down the road and what does/doesnt work.
I think ZAR starts in AHL....Ive been wrong before haha |

It can be done on mobile? Excellent.
I did my team quickly and still had 600k in space. Can you go back and edit before deadline? - MattStrat
Yeah definitely you can edit until like an hour or so before puck drops. |

So there isnt any TV feeds to watch this tonight at all??
Only 3 definite opening night roster players playing but its not about that for me. I want to see all the really young guys in action. A lot of whom Ive never seen before. - MattStrat
I have not seen anything about it so I am assuming it will not get a TV broadcast (just radio). According to the Pens' website all four of the games next week will be broadcast, starting with 9/24 (Sunday). None of the games this week will, though.
I too would would like to see them all broadcast. Most of the guys playing won't be with the team next month but some may be the Pens of the future. Also it would be interesting to see how Sullivan tries to fill the 3C position in the preseason. Hockey preseason is a lot more interesting than football preseason. |

Anyone familiar with the Uniontown area? how bad of a drive is it to Pitt or Morgantown? economy, things to do etc? Do you recommend going more north to Pitt burbs or south to Morgantown burbs? - Reverend Killtaker
Uniontown is a very depressed area, not much to do in the way of entertainment but it is very nicely located on the doorstep of a ton of outdoor activity; hiking, biking, camping and snow skiing. You are also real close to some pretty nice attractions like Ohiopyle, Laurel Caverns and Nemacolin. Getting to Motown is easy, getting to PGH is easy but would be over an hour and a ride on the PA Turnpike so it would cost you a couple bucks each trip. I lived in Scottdale PA (grew up just outside of Morgantown) for a short time, which is near US119 and worked in PGH, the drive was a solid hour and Uniontown is 20 miles further south. There is not a great, middle of the road location with tons to do without giving up drive time but you may look to the South Hills of PGH, something like Peters Township or Cannonsburg. Tons to do, near major highways, can use the T to get into town and if you want to head to Morgantown, it's an hour south on I-79. Peters is not cheap but it's not in Allegheny Co so you avoid those taxes, but with good schools, tons of shopping and really great neighborhoods. Those areas are hot because of Natural Gas so housing prices reflect that. |

Oh I agree with with this.....especially about ZAR heading to the AHL. I just don't think Wilson gets a 2nd line spot in the regular season. It will be Rust or possibly Hags IMO.....which are both playing in tonights games. Rust is my guess. |

Thanks for the info and insight. Ive had an interesting job offer in Uniontown and from the brief research ive done, you seem pretty spot on with what I surmised. Im currently looking over real estate in Jefferson Hills but im not sure if the hike would be tolerable or not. |

I think it's intentional and he's getting first crack. I'd go with Rust myself, but it was Wilson on that line at the end of the playoffs. I'm assuming now that the scrimmages are over they are going to try potential lines. ZAR was just getting a look for future reference same as Simon with Crosby, no way either starts there.
Not like I'd be shocked if it's Hags or Rust, but Wilson is most definitely in the mix. |

Hopefully they're going hard on the face-off calls in the preseason to show players that they're cracking down, but ultimately loosen up a bit when the draws are more in line.
My two main concerns are:
1. Will guys like Crosby, Bergeron and Toews be called the same way a 4th line C is?
History has shown that star players receive a little more leniency and breaks.
2. Will C be trying to draw guys into penalties by flinching and subtle movements? Seems very likely. - As_I_See_It
1. No because Crosby, Bergeron and Toews don't play like the anecdotal 4th line C.
2. No because refs should be calling the slash not the reaction. If refs are calling slashes based on player reactions, that will be and is a poopshow regardless. |

Yeah, that board is ridiculous to a crazy degree. I go to read it from time to time and it's like a soap opera and the most delusional trade discussions. |
