There was no script for The Shining, they just filmed Nicholson going about his daily routine and that's what they ended up with.

FWIW, Giroux is our best faceoff man.

But, faceoffs aren't fancy enough for the #fancystats

- jmatchett383

I know.

I mean he could still take some draws.

But it is an interesting thought because i think it could maximize your top 9 talent most.

Weal - Filpulla - Simmonds was the line that played well at the end of the season i believe.

FTR, Couts and Giroux were both 55% from the dot last year...

If he can do all this in one weekend, he deserves both a medal and a free trip to a cardiologist!

Our only perennial 30 goal scorer on a 3rd line? it doesn't sound right to me.

Any idea if there is a specific issue with Simmonds?

Simmonds will also get his PP time.

People don't really use line numbers anymore. Having depth is good. If his line is on then they get more time. Maybe the kid line is going well. The top line would be a line to log heavy minutes because they are most likely to go against the other teams top line.

Everything he said, plus the obligatory Rocky stairs, Mutters Museum is pretty cool, Franklin institute is also a fun time.

Steven Starr restaurants are also good.

I think the Giroux to the wing experiment is just about timing. Wouldn't expect it to stick but am intrigued to see it as it may be something to look at down the road.

Right now there are 5 other natural centers in group 1. Four of them are in direct competition for two spots. Makes sense to give them all looks at center for the upcoming split squad game.

I think it would be cool to see Giroux out at different times during ES play, when matchups are advantageous to do so. If he has to play wing at those times, so be it.

Definitely and they have the center depth to utilize that strategy if need be.

Could be a way to protect G from injury and distribute more ice time to kid line while not burning G out. Utilize him more for pp and give patrick more ice time.

Yeah I see the potential for that down the line but both Couturier and Patrick and/or another dark horse have to show they can carry the load. Not the way I envision them starting the season barring exceptional pre seasons from Couturier Patrick and 1 of Fillpula, Lehtera or Laughton. .
