Day 1: "Wayne sustained a UBI, he's currently day to day."
Day 3: "We discovered a hairline fracture, we're doing some scans to see if he'll need surgery."
Day 8: "After consulting with our team of physicians, Wayne Simmonds has actually been dead for well over a week. We'll update you when we know more."

- jmatchett383

Depends on what your interests are.

If it's a family with trip with young kids, The Franklin Institute is a must.

If you are into more highbrow culture The Philadelphia Museum of Art would be a great place to visit.

If you are into live music, Union Transfer is a cool venue to see some great original music.

If you are looking for Philly flavored eats, try the Reading Terminal Market, there is something for everyone there.

- BiggE

what is this Reading Terminal market you speak of??

solid list.

If you are the active sort, i'd add if you like hikes check out Fairmount park/Wissahickon. if you want to bike - get a bike at boathouse row and ride on kelly drive, and/or the tow path in Manayunk and/or the forbidden drive in Wissahickon.

- nastyflyergirl

I'm going in the Winter so may pass on the adventurous outdoor activities. But thanks for the info!

No but for real, if you like food Jim's Steaks, Reading Terminal Dinics Pork sandwich with rabe, Nick's roast beef sandwich and gravy fries.

If you like Halloween, eastern state penitentiary. Old city is the best part of town, worth a walk around. Libert bell is there and stuff.

That's my 30 second rundown, others will provide more. I gotta go make IVs

Everything he said, plus the obligatory Rocky stairs, Mutters Museum is pretty cool, Franklin institute is also a fun time.

Steven Starr restaurants are also good.

If he can do all this in one weekend, he deserves both a medal and a free trip to a cardiologist!

When I was there for game 3 SCF 2010, ate 9 cheesesteaks in 2 days.
Was on a quest for the best. Delicious coupla days!

There are tons of good restaurants if you want more than just some sandwich. I am a huge fan of Jose Garces restaurants and recently found and fell in love with CHeU Noodle Bar

Today's Group 1 lines:

Claude Giroux – Sean Couturier – Jakub Voracek
Oskar Lindblom – Nolan Patrick – Travis Konecny
Jordan Weal – Valtteri Filppula – Dale Weise
Michael Raffl – Jori Lehtera – Matt Read
Taylor Leier – Scott Laughton – Colin McDonald

Ivan Provorov – Andrew MacDonald
Robert Hagg – Shayne Gostisbehere
Brandon Manning – Radko Gudas
Sam Morin – T.J. Brennan

Michal Neuvirth, Brian Elliott and Alex Lyon in goal.

Neither Wayne Simmonds (2nd straight day) nor Travis Sanheim skated on Tuesday. However both were on the Group 1 list. Sanheim practiced with Group 1 yesterday.

Interesting getting Giroux on the wing. Is it just because Simmonds is out or do you think it could be a way to get him more room?

Could be intriguing in a way once Simmonds comes back if you went with a top 9:

Giroux - Couturier - Voracek
Lindblom - Patrick - Konecny
Weal - Filpulla - Simmonds

That could be a solid top 9.

*shrug*

Didn't the Flyers successfully move Danny Briere back to wing at some point after he had played center here?

I like the thought that the Flyers have the "depth" to play around with these different line combos.

FWIW, Giroux is our best faceoff man.

But, faceoffs aren't fancy enough for the #fancystats
