I'm kinda partial to that rumored line of Lindblom - G - Konecny and moving Jake to another line. - johndewar
Could happen, I'd be fine with it.

Obviously not, but I think it maybe something close to that. I like top 3 line balance with:
Lindblom-G-Jake
Raffl-Coots-Konecny
Weal-Patrick-Simmonds
I would think Filppula could push Raffl on Coots line, but I think the line would do better with a guy who is stronger along the wall and will go to the net like Raffl, rather than a pure playmaker like Filppula.
Filppula would then be a lock on the 4th line, with the other 2 spots up for grabs between Lehtera, Laughton, Weise and Read.
Barring injury, I think it's pretty safe to say that these will be the 14 forwards that they start the season with. I don't see them carrying 8 D. - BiggE
Yeah i am not exactly sure what will happen. Looks like a vet or 2 could be sitting. For some reason I see this when I look at the roster:
Lindblom - Giroux - Voracek
Weal - Patrick - Simmonds
Lehtera/Weise - Couturier - Konecny
and then some sort of mix with Laughton at center and a mix of wings(Filppula, Read, Raffl, Weise, Lehtera) |
|
|
|
"Are we positive that will be the lines to open the season?"
MJL
No. Patrick, Simmonds and Weal have been playing together
recently and it seems that would put Giroux, Voracek and Konecny
on the top line. Not positive though. |

Yup, could be. I think it's really going to be a battle for that last top 9 spot between Raffl, Filppula, Weise and Lehtera. One thing in Raffl's favor, besides the fact that it's been reported he came into camp in fantastic shape and with a few pounds of added muscle on his frame, is that more than any of the other guys he's competing with he is more of a finisher. Whether Coots has Jake or TK on the other wing, all 3 players are pass first guys. The line needs someone who can go to the net and finish. |

Bill is one of the games televised tommorow? - Just5
I searched the Flyers on comcast and it showed all of the remaining pre-season games (minus the Brooklyn game tomorrow) being on between CSN, TSN and the NHL network |

usually both teams end up stacking their home game squad, but those groups are more "stacked" than usual. I am not certain those are the actual squads going to each game - YuenglingJagr
based on the NHL veterans rule they can't be the rosters for tomorrow |

That's kind of why I think Lehtera in a way. He is more of a setup guy and I actually think Couturier can be a solid finisher.
At least we actually have these problems where we actually have depth. Compared to having none and having to rely on guys like vandevelde. |

It is when it's the Flyers. The way they give out info, Simmonds could be dead.
