This Mahtin Bruther probably won't be that good. I like that Kidd guy though!

Imagine having the 6th Overall Pick in the draft that included:

Jaromir Jagr
Martin Brodeur
Owen Nolan
Mike Ricci
Keith Primeau
Derian Hatcher
Keith Tkachuk
Felix Potvin
Doug Weight
Geoff Sanderson
Sergei Zubov
Peter Bondra

And you pick Scott Scissons... who played 3 NHL games and retired at age 24.

(frank)ing Islanders.

I keep hearing they want to trade JVR. They'd get back a good return for him.

Favourite pre-season year was when Patrick O'Sullivan made his "comeback" and had like 8 points in 5 games and then was waived about 3 weeks into the season.

Early 80s. A friend's dad had three reds in the corner at MLG.

The kid takes me and another guy down - I'm all excited because it's against the Habs - so I was going to see about 18 future hall of famers.

Except the Habs had left the entire regular season at home - they were playing absolute scrubs. Ballard lost his mind - phoned NHL HQ, who forced the Habs to send a couple of "good" players on the train to play that night.

It was that game that forced the NHL to make a rule - you have to dress a certain amount of guys with NHL experience for each pre-season game.

I still remember being baffled why Lafleur wasn't in the lineup.

"They" was a poor choice of words.

Just that it would be a good idea.

In Montreal if you buy a "6 games package" they automatically put a preseason game in there.

Complete bullpoop. Even with the obligation to dress "nhler" you get half the product for almost full price.

Leafs should not wait another 3+ seasons in order to get their defense sorted.
Time to make some decent trades.

Yes, you can.

Hell they even made a 5 AHL + 5 NHL games package now that the Rocket plays in Laval.

It's almost interesting really.

It’s a first glimpse of Marleau for Leaf fans, who are anticipating the 39 year old’s impact on the Leafs after signing a three year, $18-million deal in the off season.

Bird, Lillybust was noticeable - but goodish is a stretch. Tire fire in his own zone... easily pushed off the puck. Same for Rosen kid (who I've just learned is not a kid at all... so Rosenbust). Dermott looks composed

For an 18 year old rookie, he was goodish.

not possible... Jets fans told us during the summer that JvR is over the hill and "washed up"...

and he's a Leaf... so how could he possibly be worth anything?

I fear that this is the way MLSEL is going.

They made a few changes to how they charge this year - nothing too substantial. In fact, it's now better - they spread out the payments over the entire year (it used to be 5 or 6 payments - the last one being mid-September).

But when they announced these changes last spring, the way they worded it strongly suggested that there would be further changes - and that those changes would demand a "greater loyalty" to the entire corporation (i.e., not just the Leafs).

Oh there's a waiting list for a full slate of season tickets for sure.

But they keep a number of tickets available for single games and/or small packages like these.

Makes tickets easier to come by and less exclusive. It's a good system really... except for the preseason game they force you to take.

Don't mind me, I'm in a pissy mood.

Mrs. Wedgie informed me this morning that we are doing Thanksgiving dinner with her family on the Saturday night.

The franking home opener.

I haven't missed a home opener in about 20 years.

Stay tuned, boys - this is probably going to get ugly.

- Atomic Wedgie

Do they not have a TV? if No are they like Amish? How did your wife escape and more importantly why risk the dangers of returning.
Do you give a flying (frank) about your wife? If not just stay home and order swiss chalet and have a time.
