Let me guess....
It's a story about Wedgie, 4 midget hookers and Thanksgiving dinner?

I love midget hookers Thanksgiving dinner! |

And idiots like me you other people here will run to LeafsSport to buy a Matthews jersey with a C on it!
Which will be current for 2 months, until the Leafs unveil the new jerseys in September. - Atomic Wedgie
Honestly surprised Marleau is not the captain. The day they signed him, I figured it was a done deal. |

My point is that he's already their leader..
Doesn't matter if he has a C or not no ones going to question him. He is our best player with very little flaws and has the right demeanor. I see the other side about pressure and whatnot, but this team needs a leadership identity, but it's fine because they have one in AM. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Forgive me for being old school on this, but I have never thought that you have to be the best player to be the leader.
Guy Lafleur never had a letter on his jersey. |

I kinda thought about that, too.
My wild-ass guess is that the Leafs are playing up the tradition of the franchise, so they don't want to appoint a guy who hasn't played a game before as a Leaf.
I honestly think the whole thing is over-rated. It's a ceremonial position.
Leaders in the dressing room and on the ice will be leaders - I won't lose sleep this year if we don't have a captain. |

Ask Bryan McCabe how much he loved being captain on Long Island. |

Dominated play.
Upped his game wen they were down.
Remained calm when he scored.
Said they played poorly after the game.
Did you even watch the game? - Arctic_AARDVARK
Yes I did. unfortunately.
I didnt read too much into his play.
But glad you saw leadership through your TV. Do you have one of those Samsung smart 4k Ultra HD curved LED TV's?
I still only have LCD.....probably harder for me tell. |

I get the theory but Matthews and Nylander can both dish the puck DAMN well. It'd be nice to see a player on that wing that is capable of finishing more often than not.
If Hyman is touted as being decent/good defensively, and Kadri's line get's the toughest matchups, THEN PUT HIM THERE! - markmark
Hyman digs the puck out and both Nylander/Matthews shoot.
Marleau is also a shooter. |

Rosen can skate and shoot, doesn't seem to know where to be. Reminded me of Gardiner when he was a rookie.
Dermott was sadly the best defenseman on the ice for the Leafs. Should be ready next year. - AdamFrench
much as it pains me to say this... I agree regarding Rosen.
Dermott was the most consistent of the defenders last night.. and if having Dermott on the Marlies this year again is to allow him to grow... the only issue I have with that is Marincin.
'nuff said.

But... does he? This is just opinion v opinion but I feel like Matthews is actually more often in the corner picking pockets and Hyman goes to the front of the net (where he will eventually miss a tap in on a sweet feed from Matthews or Nylander ) |

I honestly couldn't tell the difference between him and Leivo..
That's not a compliment for Leivo... - Arctic_AARDVARK
c'mon ... Levio was a lot more noticeable than Fehr last night. Leivo had several shifts where had or established puck possession in the Sens zone, and didn't look out of place on the pp either.
also he gave Phaneuf a shot in the mouth... that was worth the price of admission alone.
name one thing that Fehr did that was noticeable last night? |

bad example Wedgie... Lafleur wasn't the best player on those 70s teams.... best scorer perhaps... |

I agree...the little bit I watched I thought Hyman had a couple great shifts keeping the puck alive and a couple meh shifts. He's got to help them produce or it will be from 1st line to the 4th. |

I just can't imagine a scenario whereby Fehr is on the roster for opening night.
He was picked up strictly to ensure we didn't have to expose young guys in the expansion draft.
Now that his job is done, he will be on the Marlies. |

Please tell Spatso that although he played one regular season game for the Leafs last year (no goals, no assists, -1 in 10:44 of ice time), and no playoff games, Babcock really liked his leadership on the bench and in the dressing room / press box.
So yeah, "regular" this year.
Fehr shur. |
