New Security Policies at ACC this Season

ACC Bag Policy

Effective September 1, 2017, Air Canada Centre is enforcing a new bag policy. Any purses or bags that are larger than 14" x 14" x 6" will not be allowed into Air Canada Centre. Permitted bags should be soft-sided and able to fit completely beneath an arena seat. This policy will be strictly enforced and Air Canada Centre is unable to store oversized or prohibited items.

Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, the following: backpacks (of any size), oversized luggage and coolers. An exception will be made for declared medically necessary items, after proper inspection.

Re-Entry Policy
Please note that as an additional security measure, no re-entry is permitted after you have exited Air Canada Centre gates. There are no longer any in-and-out privileges.

Hmm. This was what they implemented for rap shows at Budweiser Stage.

No backpacks may seem trivial but it's actually pretty (frank)ing annoying. For me its easy enough because I live close to work and the ACC is in between. In my line of work I go to a lot of Raps games, concerts and Leafs games. For my colleagues who GO-Train or travel far... they'll have to leave their bag, go to the ACC, walk back to the office and then walk back to Union. I personally didn't find the security checks particularly long so it's strange they'd pick a type of bag instead of just saying a size.

I wonder if they will make a smoking area/patio. I know they did that at the Dome but then the patio law came into effect and people just kept smoking in the bathrooms.
