I think they'd be willing to (or at least consider) part with Vatanen if it meant bolstering their RW depth with a certain fast young Finnish prospect.

I think Kapanen should have a decent value... but if they gave up Theodore to protect Vatanen... I just can't see them now trading him; when the Leafs wold have made a deal easy before the expansion draft you'd think.

I am not convinced that Sami Vatanen is a target of the Leafs. Decent speed and hands, a reasonable contract as well. I would think Leafs would rather Josh Manson. He won't score as much as Vatanen, but he'would clear the garbage from in fron of the net. Gallagher, Marchand and the like wouldn't be taking runs at Andersen and they would need Matt Martin much less.

No big deal for the Leafs... they had very little to lose in the expansion draft... and should the Ducks have moved one of their elite D-men they would have had less to protect as well. (The Bieksa NMC screwed them mainly)
