1. Carolina Hurricanes win the East.

2. The Toronto Maple Leafs win the Atlantic Division and Stanley Cup

How can #2 happen after #1?

- rmiethaner

Well, since they're in different divisions, it's entirely possible. #1 teams miss the cup quite frequently.

Got it.

I interpreted it as "Canes win the East" meaning the playoffs.

Thank you.

I honestly don't think TOR making it to the cup is that much of a stretch. I think the east is pretty wide open. Caps regressing and fatigue likely to set in for the Pens, there's no clear dominant team right now, maybe CBJ.

I already got out on my wallet and bet a C note on the Leafs winning the Cup this year at 14-1. I thinking of booking them winning their division too.

Too funny James, too many outrageous comments so I know you are pulling some legs, like MJL,
- joegreif17

I'm not at all. I know that in order to look like a reasonable person, you have to predict that everything that happened last year will happen again this year, but that's stupid.

When have you ever been proven wrong? Seriously? You're wrong most of the time. Secondly, you don't have a track record. You've never been a GM so you have zero track record to compare to any GM. NHL GM's don't guess.

The Leafs can win the Atlantic and be in second place to the President's Trophy winning Hurricanes.

Talk about Delusions of Grandeur!

You're proven wrong in just about every blog that you post unless it's that rare moment that you're realistic, i.e. finally recognizing that the Caps are no longer a playoff-lock.

Let's move on to this:

HOLY TRUMP-ISH COMMENT, BATMAN!

You seem to be mistaking the five dumbest guys in the world saying I'm wrong as actual proof that I am.

Nah, not even close. However it doesn't surprise me one bit that you think that GM's guess. It's hysterical that you think they do.

The comment was made towards a poster who has made repeated references to me in his posts which have nothing to do with the actual content of the blog or the thread, who is just looking to take personal shots.

I'll inform you of something. Hockeybuzz is a discussion board. Everyone who posts on blogs follows the blogs and comments on them. It's the actual objective of the site!

As far as my comments being nonsensical, that's just your opinion. That has zero relevance to me.

Plus, you act like because you blog on a obscure site that you must be somehow qualified. This is hockeybuzz, not the NYT. The bar is pretty low to become a blogger on here, so just because someone on here may just be a discussion member doesn't automatically imply they are dumber than you.

I'd go further to say that a large portion of the "bloggers" on here are just glorified message board posters.

Generally when someone says a team won the East/West it means they got to the Stanley Cup Final.

In the NFL when a team is AFC or NFC champs it means they're in the Super Bowl, not that they had the best regular season record.

Well, to be fair, you said both the Sens and Blackhawks would miss the playoffs last year, so that's two right there.

If GM's don't guess why are there busts? Terrible trades? Worse UFA signings? They're guessing that Michael Dal Colle is worth the 5th overall pick, or that Shea Weber is worth PK Subban, or Adam Larsson is worth Taylor Hall, or it would be a good idea to sign Milan Lucic and David Backes and Andrew Ladd to asinine deals.

YUCK

Dylan Strome is so overrated.

Clayton Keller is going to have a way better year, and has a way better chance of winning the Calder.
