completely off topic but seeing that Chelios plays for the checkers, Charlotte is the only other AHL arena i've been to. It's weird how they blackout the upper sections, but it's really nice. My buddies and i went on trip to NC and got super drunk and went to a checkers/wolves game and all wore sabres gear and rooted for the the wolves lol
- jcragcrumple

That must have been when they were playing in Time Warner where the Hornets play.

They're in the BoJangles Colliseum now that it's been renovated. No upper level there.

if your wr's are blah

why don't you use o leary in a 2 TE set

also if you are going to try to dink and dunk it down the field, why pay a fb money who can catch the ball, dimarco, if you are not going to use him

this offensive game plan is f@cking brutal

sorry I needed some time to digest that crap

- homiedclown

Agreed, but this is all on Tyrod apparently.

Anybody who thinks a QB is magically going to save them with that game plan is sorely mistaken

[quote=Stripes77]You need to look up the definition of a journeyman...this is his second team, first as a starter

A journeyman is Fitzpatrick, or McCown, or Hoyer

- GERBE!!!75PTS[/quote
How can you not put him in that list ?

After he's done with the bills he's going to end up just like those players]

Because genius this is his first go around as a starter.

When he goes to different teams and starts there then he is a journeyman

God it's like you don't know how to think a complete thought

The Pegulas have been fighting to get the arena upgraded. They paid for some upgrades that we as fans don't see, but that benefit the players at least. But they won't fund anymore because they don't own the building and they're not the only group that use it.

It's why they refuse to sign a new lease agreement. I think this is like the 3rd season now that they're playing there without a lease agreement.

Like 3 of us have posted that Eichel isn't playing tonight, then he comes out and says he thinks Eichel is going to have a hat trick tonight.

I think there's a fair amount of evidence that his mom dropped him on his head as a baby or something.

TYROD TYROD TYROD

I really don't know

But then there is the all 22 view and there are idiots screaming that O Leary is open when the play call is a roll out left and O Leary is open to the right...

This offense is run first we know that, the rest of the league knows that.

But when you can't get your running game going and you're 2nd and 3rd and long you're going to punt more often than not.

Yeah, it's too bad. I was in a box near the end of last season and everything is just grimy and all the HVAC equipment in the ceiling has insulation falling off it. It's just weathered and beaten. They should really just start over

Edit: i was in the locker rooms too. They're... ok. The video room is literally a closet. Met some of the players because we won a contest for the "best dog fan of the amerks." Bailey was really nice. Baptiste was hitting on the woman who does the in-game jumbotron stuff

It's easy to stuff the run when you have 0 worries about the passing attack.

The last major renovations the building had was the end of the 90's

So 20 years ago and the building was opening in the 50's...

It would probably cost $100 million for a newer building seating 10,000

No deep threat (Your QB's strength)
Bad play calling/route running
Not the most accurate passer

recipe for disaster

Benefits of owning/operating the buildings I guess.

Canes minority owner owns the Checkers and operates their arena. Peter Karmanos owns the Florida Everblades too.

Their arena could use some upgrades (lighting and scoreboard)

But its the ECHL lol and I am also spoiled as a ref in Orlando because the Solar Bears play at the Amway Center

No doubt. It seemed like there just wasn't enough room in the player areas though. The concourse set up is a little janky too with the hallways that suddenly tighten up into single file around 90 degree turns. And dear god, some of the tv's are clearly still from the '90s

It's definitely not a great building right now. But a facelift would do it wonders. The overall design isn't terrible or anything so that's a plus. Just need to strip it down and clean it up. Make it nice and shiny again.

Looks like there should hopefully be some progress there at some point in the near future:

Pretty sure that's just at the one end where the access to the suites are, if I'm remembering correctly.

But the way the concessions are set up overall is so much better than the way they're set up in the KeyBank Center(specifically the 300 level). The lines don't impede in the main walk areas with the exception of the little kiosks they set up in some of them. But overall, the flow of people works much better.

Yeah, it's just that far end. The entrance is really nice, but he abundant use of cinder block with the old tvs, faded paint and stained ceiling tile makes it feel like a prison rec yard. Hopefully they'll figure it out. They could play a year in Buffalo at the harbor center or something if they need to

Shoulda been their focus for the first quarter, given Carolina's strong front and pass rush, and I didn't even see them try a deep ball until start of the 2nd half (and TT promptly got sacked). Mc Dermott knew his team was outmatched and was hoping for a rope-a dope finish. Too bad TT sucks at 4th quarter comebacks.

The problem here is they don't have a WR on the team that can be a deep threat.

Hell if they still had Goodwin he would be the guy

I've been in a few different arenas that are on the smaller side over the years. Overall, none of them are what I'd call spectacular. Most of the ones I've been in aren't too different from Rochester in terms of the overall look. But I think the overall setup in Rochester works better.

For the most part, especially for an AHL or smaller market, all I ask for is a chair that doesn't look older than I am, reasonably priced decent food/drink selection, parking that doesn't put me broke, and a team that's entertaining.

The rest of it doesn't really matter to me at the end of the day. I'm there to watch the game. Probably have a bite to eat and a drink. That's about it. I don't need it to feel like the Taj Mahal.

He's been a disaster in SF the first two weeks.

Dropped two that could have been TD's
