In my opinion Sakic has jerk a lot of interested teams that want Duchene around so now that the value he was seeking in the beginning is not what he going to get now because teams are tried of trying to figure out what Sakic actually wants Top dman ready to go top prospects and draft picks and then that's not enough or the that's not what he looking for. So Sakic in a way has devalue Duchene trade by not making a hockey trade value for value, it seems he wants to win the trade by a landslide. That's why as this goes on Duchene who is already frustrated might say I want out trade to the Blackhawks for example and Sakic is put into corner and gets less in the trade than before.

I don't. Sakic has overplayed his hand though and is reaching that point past diminishing returns where he has to deal him.

Sakic wants projectable prospects.

My OPINION is Duchene is worth it for a team that has to really focus on the next two years as far as winning.

I know there are some convinced DeBrincat is going to be a star in the NHL this year. Well, I'll take that action. Can't wait to see Q's head explode when he fails to get back or gets pushed off pucks all night in real games (which would happen).

You're trading futures for a guy who comes in and fills some needs (which this team has, don't kid yourself) and definitely makes you a better team for the next couple of years.

How much is that worth to Bowman, how much does Sakic want? I don't know and it's a tough call that those kids of Jobs (NHL GMs) sometimes ride on.

Is it possible that all the ADB hype is to raise his value in Sakic's eyes

Has anybody watched or heard of any reviews of how Fransons skating has looked in the scrimmages?

Just general articles about Franson in Chicago like this piece by Laz in the Sun Times
http://chicago.suntimes.c...im-betting-on-myself/amp/

Not finding twitter mentions either tho I thought I saw something about him being under the radar for lack of a better way to put it. Not real noticaeable. Not necessarily a bad thing for a Dman

I went to the training camp festival. First thing you notice about him is just how physically big he is. The other thing I saw was not v fast but seemed to get to the right spots on the ice.

FWIW I thought Jokiharu was really solid for a v new kid. I kept seeing someone make small plays, suddenly show up in the right spot and it was him! Not saying he's doing anything other than fermenting in theA, but I am saying I could see what they liked about the kid.

I read that, it was not very insightful on what Laz has seen so far. Mostly fluff. I know people has said he was as slow as Roz at this point so I guess the fact that no one has said much means he is probably not that slow because Roz's speed jumps out at you in a bad way.

People here mention the word "mouthpiece" once in a while. That knucklehead ought to have his picture next to the word in the dictionary.

So from the 32 second Video I can tell you he is a better skater today then Roz was in 16-17. Not saying Cody looked fast, but roz could not change direction or even build any momentum.

He fills space by virtue of his girth, but when you see a guy that big you want see Mattias Ekholm fire and spit, and to me Franson throughout his career continues to be a finesse big man.

Anybody remember way back when, on this site, I suggested Ekholm as a perfect type player you attempt to add (instead of all the clamor about high contracted young developing defenders rumored to be available, eg Trouba) because Ekholm's Cap hit was in place and he was under the radar good. Well, the Preds knew what he was and I am sure the GMs around the league knew to, so he was untouchable well before many of you were awakened to his game.

There clearly is a reason(s) Franson has few takers.

Try and tell me he's physically more assertive than the aging Roz of last year(even MORE better with getting the puck out and up with good vision) and I will tell you a clump of Buffalo turd is in your eyes from the way he played there last year.
Sure Franson can get his size behind a PP shot and distribute the biscuit, but nowadays, all the kids can too. He has the same issues Daley did with mseeing and making the long ball pass, and even deciding when to move the tree trunks or give the puck up. I am not gonna rip him any further but he is a seven guy, emergency fill because Vegas didn't give you the d-man you wanted or the hawk dee-kids crapped the bed...

Last time: Roz re-sign was fof the Balckhawks to be in compliance for the vegas dispersal draft, and if you are hearing the tune from the front office shazam his headaches mean IR too...signing looks like a formality parting gift to his new position as translator.

is he better then Roz in 16/17 is my only real question. If we did not sign Roz last year do you think he would even be in the league last year. Roz skating was so bad last year that unless he could engage them he could do anything.

Its all about the money - if he's looking for anything remotely close to his previous salaries, not going to happen.

If he's prepared for $1-$1.2M they probably sign him to be this year's version of Jordan Hendry, Sami Lepisto, Matt Walker, Aaron Johnson or Sean O'Donnell. And that's about the level of player the Hawks will get.

Yeah, hawks must be trying to package him off to somebody.
- bhawk1s

Or they're just stating facts that he's been good in the game-like situations he's played so far and seems to have chemistry with a couple of the Hawks vets. Not everything is more than just what people say. They're not hyping him for trade (same way they didn't hype TT or Schmaltz for trades in the past when they got similar praise during camp), but so fans can get excited about hockey starting again.

Well, Roszival isn't playing, right? Good guess.
The pressbox will have an alternate seat for him, becuase you want these kids to develop, just like you want to win games and MAKE the playoffs, and will push hard for the youngsters on the backline to step up, and he has experience, his biggest attribute. I doubt he makes the 50 minute drive to the Potato Statue in O'Leary, PIE...

No. Franson's contributions to teams in the past did not have to do with him being good defensively - they have to do with him in the OZS. I personally don't have any issue with such a defender because they can do well in certain usage/deployment but expectations on actual defensive play should be set at appropriate levels.

The only thing I've read is that Kane was not going on the trip.

Edit: Here are the guys going.

Edit 2: Cleaner image. No 'big' names. Schmaltz, Hinostroza, Kempny, and Forsling are the only guys going who played regularly last season. No Debrincat.

No joke, in a shootout league he had value. He might have been a D man, but he had hands and moves as well, at least with no pressure and when nobody could touch him.
He would have had the best shootout percentage on the hawks. Really, no joke.

is this the complete list? Forwards (32) and only 15 listed. Is that 15 of 32 forwards in camp in this game?

Yes, that's the complete list. They don't ever send everyone for away pre-season games and it's not like they can play all 40+ guys in one game. First couple of games are mostly them rotating in guys trying to make the team with a few vets sprinkled in.
