But the point is well received. Goals are good.

5 goals by the canucks don't exist and will not exist with the current lineup, regardless if it's a win or a loss.

incorrect, both EARNED their way into the league, by being hard workers and great hockey players. You clearly aren't much of a Canuck fan if you think those two were gifted any opportunity in their career.

Subban is neither, if he was... he'd be in the league
.

- Crazybagoham

Exactly. I don't understand just picking random players who worked their way into the league as examples while ignoring that Travis Green himself(who just coached him for a couple of seasons) says Subban isn't good enough because his passes are sloppy and he needs to be able to defend at the AHL level before he get's a chance in the NHL.

Not to mention he was one of two players named for lagging behind on day 1 of camp... but hey, let's just try the guy anyways... what's to lose? For Green...credibility for one...

When WD didn't think our AHL players were even ready for a look, people were outraged. Now it's confirmed by their coach in previous seasons. Favouritism, "hates the kids" all that BS was being flogged in here by the usual suspects.

What is wrong with you people with the "You clearly aren't much of a Canuck fan" type of bullpoop. (frank) it's stupid.

I never said gifted, I said opportunity. His open letter talked about working hard and busting his ass but lots of guys in the minors do that. He mentioned there was a opportunities given because a coach liked what he saw, or the team was rebuilding, timing, luck, etc.

Not knocking either guy, just saying sometimes when someone is given an opportunity the run with it.

And (frank) off with the superiority attitude.

Virtanen finishes hits on both Ryan White and Olli Juolevi on same shift. Look, this qualifies as news from a training camp scrimmage

I agree with you in that I want this team to be able score lots but the idea that the team or players that score the most win the most only holds water last year. Many championship teams did it while not being top of the league. Many ways to win.

You are also mistaken about the top 30 scorers and their team's making the playoffs.

Scheifle, wheeler, Seguin, Benn, Zetterberg, carter. We're in top 30 point getters.

Skinner, Laine, Lee, Scheifle, Carter for goals were all in top 20.

How dare you fact check me.

My point was goals get you wins. Those numbers don't lie. Goals for and goals against to me are a proven number when assessing teams overall performance.

For example Winnipeg was 7th in goals for and 4th in goals against. That tells me there is a team without a decent goalie and questionable defence. It also tells me they are an exciting team to watch because they can score and keep games close even when they are down.

I went to 11 Wpg games last season. I'd say probably 5 games were exciting. 6-4-1 in the games I saw.

new team mates, new systems, day after a bag skate, wouldn't read to much into the no goals thing. Sucks for fans I guess.

Euro prospect update:
Dmitry Zhukenov named rookie of the week. 1 goal in 3 games gets you rookie of the week.

Petrus Palmu 1 goal 2 assists in 3 games.

Lukas Jasek 1 Assist in 3 games.

Tree 1 goal 3 assists in 9 games.

Abols, Pettersson, Gunnarsson all yet to play a regular season game.

Did you watch them play at all last year? Subban was flat out better for the Comets. Doesn't mean he'll become a NHL player but i'm starting to question if either you really watch the games or if you know how to make obvious observations when watching hockey.

- Nucker101

Just so we understand your position, you believe Subban has a better shot at the NHL than Virtanen? Please confirm

Anyone else notice Green's comment "We talked about playing the 4rth line big minutes"?

This should be interesting after all the outrage about 4rth liners while WD was here... time to start winding up the usual suspects.

To be fair, assuming the team is healthy, the Canucks 4th line this year should be a lot better than the trash WD had, which was basically an all AHL line that he still played upward of 9-10 minutes some games
