This. He would be a welcome and solid add to almost any team. - glove_was_stuck
Except for the fact that he's constantly injured. |

Nylander and Marner will likely be compared to Pastrnak when signing their contracts so hopefully they can sign something similar or a little cheaper but longer term. I'd love to see 8 years for 6m per year, would be awesome!
Surprised Little got what he got. Jets taking a huge gamble on a guy who hardly ever seems to complete a full season without an injury. |

There shouldn't be an RFA market at all. |

100% agreed.
but it does it exist and GM's need to take advantage of it to keep costs down so you can pay your ufa's. |

Per Dreger:
Pastrnak extension with Bruins is complete. 6 years, $40 million. $6.6667 aav.
Steal for the Bruins in my opinion after the recent extensions for young rising players - Dunnie03
Yeah, but those were mainly handed out by Chiarelli whose cap management is among the worst in the league.
You'd think a Harvard-boy would be decent at basic math. |

It seems to be a decent deal both ways at this time because he has only had 1 legit year, though he did show promise in previous two years. Pastrnak is pretty much set for life now even if he injures himself or regresses. He cashed in on one very good year. And Boston knows if he keeps on his trajectory in 2-3 years the deal could be a hell of a great one for them. I think it has the POTENTIAL to be a steal for Boston. I do like this player a lot and think he has even more untapped potential. |

So wouldn't be any different than David Krejci then. Still would. |

Pasternak deal is a steal for 6 yrs. Didn't eat up any UFA years. But when this deal expires and if he progresses well, look out boston cuz he may flee for a better return than the Bruins can offer. |

Or the Bruins pay him what he's worth at that time, like they did now.
EDIT: The deal is right on par with what most people not named Peter Chairelli or David Polie estimated it to be. It's not really a steal. It's pretty fair deal for both sides. It only feels like a steal because those 2 signed an unproven kid and pseudo 1C to retarded contracts respectively. |

He's pretty exciting to watch when he plays with marchand and Bergeron. |

It's awesome! Hopefully he can have success with Krejci and spread the offense a bit. Made the Bruins a one trick pony. Stop the Bergeron line and let the putrid defense beat themselves. |

Never anything in between.
Every deal is either a steal (over used way too often) or its the other spectrum; garbage, horrible, terrible deal that will leave the team in cap hell. |
