Yup.

My brother is a teacher.

Caught a kid handing in an essay that he downloaded from the internet. 100% guilty - don't even bother trying to deny it.

But the kid is one of 4 brothers at the school, and the family makes sizable donations outside of tuition.

So my brother first had a meeting with the headmaster to figure out what the punishment would be...

Amazing - shows the decency or lack of learned at home, is way more impactful than hitting the books.

Bringing him in on pto doesn't mean much, maybe showing him some favour for being a leaf previous to see him he's still got it or showcase for other teams.

But if he's beat out in camp and they still bring in I'm gonna be pretty upset.

based on last year, they generally gave spots to guys who won them. dumped laich, greening etc. if favor of the rookies that beat them out.

i don't think they want to hand a spot to dermott. i think they want competition for spots. if he earns a spot, i think he gets it and they let polak walk.

If it's a tie, it goes to the vet.

(frank)ing world is packed full of micro breweries and beard trimming places.

More common that Starbucks now.

Screw you, Walshy.

You've made me so upset that I'm going to write an angry poem in my journal, and then ride home on my second-hand bike and make an awesome vegan dinner.

possibly

i think this puts the pressure on dermott to beat him for a spot.

- Tumbleweed

Polak is a righty, Dermott is lefty. I think its more Rosen who is also a lefty but plays right side

Yeah maybe. I doubt Dermott makes the team this year (possibly around Feb time).

Same as we were last year except Hainsey in for Hunwick.

Give Dermott, Borgman, Rosen (more) time in the AHL

- walshyleafsfan

i think borgman and rosen are destined for the ahl.

i believe dermott is they guy that has the inside track at an nhl spot.

Sounds strange. Never heard that one before...? You bought it in Istanbul?

No a serious and reputable place, the master watchmaker at the store said nothing is totally waterproof other than an oyster case. Never had a problem with the Submariner. The Tag - similar to my Breitling are more for show (jewellery) than functionality.

this the same babcock that had 6-8 rookies in the lineup last year consistently.

best player will get the job. only exception imo will be waivers eligibility will screw over kapanen.

I don't want to give spots either. There are lots of competition already with marincicn, Dermott borgman and rosen

Also, not all guys that won spots got them at the start of the year. They still started with guys like mihaleck for the first month of the year

Hard not to see, Rychel sticking around as well, unless they move him - can't see the Leafs just letting him go for nothing.

Wow - 30 Jewel movement, nice. Terrific piece of watchmaking for sure.

I have two IWC's both older - I inherited an old gold watch from my dad - calibre 89 and I have a 70's oddball - an electric. The one I am looking at buying is an ingenieur calibre 8542.

- winsix

Thanks

I've wanted one to start a collection for years, had the cash and still the desire after those years to get it so I pulled the trigger!

Funny you mention getting an old gold watch from your dad - my mother just gave me one of my dad's, which was her father's Omega De Ville - I'm going to take it somewhere to be serviced and checked out, but don't know where to go to be honest.

Haha.

These cyclists are taking over the roads. What about us motorists? Don't we get a say?

I swear down the world only has about a million people in it. I'm just seeing the same guys over and over again.

If I could go back in time I'd plough money into the Lumberjack shirt industry. (frank) Facebook

Good watchmakers are hard to find - but believe it or not, with internet seaches and ratings, you can usually uncover a couple of top pros. My bias is toward older European guys trained in Switzerland.

They may have to "Joe Colborne" him - which on the one hand sucks, but on the other hand is a good indication of the depth at wing that we have.

Last year our rookies were our best players. This year I think it's a tad different. I think Dermott and Kapanen will be sent down IMO.

Either way, we'll find out soon enough.

I think he's better than Colborne though - what sucks is that I am convinced he is better than Matt Martin.

That's the poopty part of the waiver rule. I hate that a player who might not make a team has to pass through waivers, should be an exemption period at the beginning of each season.

Patek watches are legendary - I don't have a wristwatch, but I have a nice old pocket watch by them.
