Haters are gonna hate this year my friend..

To be fair, it was getting kinda boring hating the Leafs at some point.

At least now the rivalry can come back.

And he hasnt done much scoring at the NHL level.
I dont think people realize how much JVR brings to the score sheet.
We really have no one that can step in and replace what he does.

- Fakepartofme

This is weird but I completely agree with you. No one the Leafs currently have in the minors can replace the goals and points JVR brings.

Very underrated amongst the fanbase (which is in itself weird)

Just looking forward to some good hockey. I believe the kids were second overall for the second half of the season last year. If they can equal or slightly improve, while still tinkering with the line-up.. Good to be a Leafs fan.

I used to love him until he pulled on the Hab jersey.

I think he most likely gets undervalued because from a cap perspective, many assume he will be traded. But his point totals have been very good as a Leaf.

Hard to not like a guy that played so hard and never backed down. Think about it, 7th round pick, scored almost a point a game over a long career and was just a terrific player. He was a beauty!

I agree. He was a hell of a player. The scrap between Wendel and McSorley was an epic beating.. 23 stitches for Marty..

I agree that he is not a replacement for JVR completely. Kapanen is an excellent skater though and seems to be lucky. He scored a couple against Washington including that beauty in double ot. He'll be ok as a third liner down the road.
- winsix

3rd liner I agree.
Initial scouting on him was that he doesnt score consistently but can score big goals.
Which we've seen

Well we still have to win a game.
But honestly....im bored playing the habs, sens and sabres.
I really wish the leafs and these young kids start a new rivalry with another team.
Maybe cause they meet often in the playoffs over the next 10 years.

But the habs, sens and lowly sabres story line is boring.
