Who's team has the better year offensively this year? I'm betting on Tampa players for my hockey pool but the Leaf players have me intrigued, first world problems. I think if Tampa stays healthy they'll win the East.

Could be close. The Leafs had almost twenty more goals this past season, but Tampa didn't have Stamkos. Then again Marleau should increase the totals for the Leafs too. Wouldn't surprise me if they are neck-and-neck near the top of the league for goals.

Yes definitely if Dermott plays a safe and steady game, that's a great sign and a well needed element to this team

As much as I'd hate to do so, I might have to pick a few Leaf players in my pool lol.

By the looks of things I wouldn't be surprised if Dermott and Carrick are the bottom pairing, with an outside chance of Rosen and the next would be Borgman!

I was a homer last year and reached by taking a bunch of Leaf rookies way early across a couple of pools and they were all steals. I won't be able to get them that early this year though.

Marleau could actually be an interesting later pick because his age might be counteracted by playing with Matthews and Nylander and on the PP.

Marleau would be a good bench player to pick up late in the draft.

Touch and go for a while on Friday. He required a Pace Maker to get things to function properly. They got him off the ventilator around 5:20 on Friday. Out of ICU while we were there on Sunday.

He should be fine, thanks to all for the nice thoughts, greatly appreciated.

For sure. Thornton has been like that in my pools in recent years, where I think people hesitated to grab him because it could be the year he falls off, but then he continues to rack up points. Those star players that aren't sexy picks anymore but will dependably produce.

Dermott has distinguish himself from the other d prospects I think. Well have to see how he does in camp and how Rosen does, but I think this game was a very good sign.

I completely agree.

I don't know if the TV showed it or not 'cause I was at the game but Dermott was controlling everyone on the ice. Telling them where to go and what to do in the defensive end. It was great to see him take charge.

Unfortunately I didn't get to watch any of the games. How was Andrew Nielsen? I heard good things about his game early last season in the AHL, but not much since.
