Isles are going to battle for last two spots as the pens jackets are clearly better then them. The rangers lost some key players and the caps lost a lot of them so they may not be too far off on those teams. Philly will be better but I don't see Carolina being better or nj for that matter. I think they take the 7 seed but they are not the 7th place team in division

I'm not sold on Carolina either though a ton of people are pumping their tires. I can see Philly showing some improvement but their goaltending my be an issue for them. The Jackets I can see regressing for some reason I just don't see them being the power house that everyone is making them out to be. That can change if they add Duchene of course which would make them deeper and help their offense which was their issue last season.

To me the Isles have far more question marks in their line up then most teams in our division save the Devils. New coach, young players, some with little or zero NHL experience looking to play significant roles. All of these things rarely come together in a season especially for us as we all know. It could of course but it's not something I would bet on. Anyone who writes for THN is out to lunch for the most part IMO but this prediction is far from far fetched.

I'd say we have just as much a chance of doing well this season maybe even a little better of a chance with our experience. Young players, some unknowns. If it comes together then yeah if not then either team will fall on their face.

I'm expecting slightly better than last season unless somebody falls apart entirely.

Don't think anyone on the club played over their head. Lost basically nothing and added (hopefully) better goaltending and another 15-20 goals in Williams.

I think The Canes Goaltending was terrible last season. I agree with you and I think Darling will be a big plus this year alone. The young D Maturing together and the addition of TVR will also make them better imho. Should be a fun team to watch.
Williams adds some Vet leadership and who knows maybe they will let go of one of their young D and Aquire Duchene?

Not without somebody else coming back the other way to fill that hole.

Really don't think they want Klas Dahlbeck taking a regular shift on this team.

I have to say i think the Hurricanes are one of the best young teams in the east. I use to be unable to watch them few years ago but last season they played very up tempo style that was fun to watch.
I actually think they were one of the tougher teams to play against.

im a big fan of their young defense. I think they going to surprise in the east.

Behind the Islanders of course.

their goaltending goes to like 15th in the league and they are a playoff team.. loaded blueline.. improved offense.. the jackets could win the division and I wouldn't be surprised.. bob stays healthy... elite blueline and they can score

Entire division (I mean, except New Jersey) is capable of beating anybody in the league on any given night. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Jackets are a force no doubt. The Div is stacked really if any team stumbles for too long it could cost them the POs.

EK showing love to the Isles with picking them ahead of the Rangers and trading for Duchene in November and signing JT in December.

Calm down there, tiger. They're only "whacky" predictions. Just because the dart hit the Isles, doesn't mean anything is going to happen. By the way, welcome back. Haven't heard from you in a while. Where have you been?

I just got a JT jersey as a Bday present so he better sign and we all know Sakic will not be able to say no to Bailey for Duchene for long.

Work has been very busy and the NHL does not know how to do an offseason so I did not miss anything. Thanks for the welcome back. I did miss the chatting though with fellow Isles fans.

I feel good about Belmont happening and still think JT signs. I think JT is the type who would have told the Isles he is not signing so they could trade him. I'm feeling positive about the Isles.

I think he'll sign too. Although, I can't blame him for waiting to see what happens. Could you imagine working for a company whose lease is going to expire in a year and they have no idea where they are going? No long term or even a short term solution.
