I don't know what we would do without the incisive with and brilliant humor of The Shakespeare Twins. Truly, they do those of us who frequent Hockeybuzz a tremendous service.
Oh.. and I see your boy got another hit and is now raking at a .167 clip. - Doc_Sarcasm
He made that nice play in the hole at short. Saved a run. Patience, child

Thoughts are with all about to face the wrath of Irma. Be it those who live there or those who are going to go help with the impact and recovery from the storm.
From me as well. I have a few friends in Key West who are staying and riding it out. I tried my best to talk them out of it, but they're stubborn. I'm really worried about them. Luckily for us, our condo is on the 2nd floor of a very sturdy concrete block building and we have steel hurricane shutters over all of our windows and on our deck. We always move everything in from the deck and close all shutters when we leave in May. I just hope the common areas of our complex don't get too badly damaged and, much more importantly, that no one gets killed. - BiggE

That's the least of my worries, I have dear friends down there, you can replace stuff, you can't replace lives. Our complex, thankfully has deep reserves and very good insurance. With 150 owners, even if we had to come up with a million out of pocket, it would be less than $7000 per owner and would be assessed over a year. I just hope all my friends make it through this safely, I wish they all had evacuated.

In happier news, just 2 days til the rookies hit the ice, and, FWIW, the Eagles are still undefeated!

Carson Wentz has thrown zero interceptions this year.
Brian Elliot has not given up any goals.

Yup, also Joel Embiid hasn't missed a single game and the Phils have yet to lose today.

Being in the insurance business I always use the line, we can always fix or replace a damaged car or house ....we can't always fix or replace you....any word on your single mother friend with 5 year old? Hopefully she changed her mind and left. |

Nope she stayed. At least she is in a category 5 resistant hotel that is also housing all of the first responders. They have multiple generators at the site and plenty of food, so they should be alright. I just hope they have a house to return to once this is over.
