Dekanich signed by the Phantoms today...RIP Stolie - dragonoffrost
Apparently the Flyers deal with the Royals requires them to provide two goalies to Reading who are on NHL or AHL contracts. |

As long as it's not a full tear it should be quick recovery. Hell I walk on two partially torn menisci. But I'm not a athlete by any means. Doc said once the pain gets too hard to work on then she'll do the surgery. - dragonoffrost
I've had surgery on both my knees for meniscus tears. The first one was a complete front meniscus tear. Couldn't walk on it within a few hours due to the pain, and swelled up so bad I couldn't fit sweat pants around the knee when I finally decided to go to the hospital that night. They removed the whole thing, it's bone on bone in there now. Quick day surgery and two months of physio and I was about 95%. Another month after that I was 100%. 100% chance I'm told of arthritis in the knee as I get older and probably a knee replacement, because it's bone on bone.
Second knee was a minor tear and I was back to normal after surgery within about 3 weeks.
I'm sure a pro athlete, with their training and the help they can get will recover much faster regardless what level his injury is. |

If they repair the meniscus rather than remove some of it, rehab will take at least four months. That's what ended Stamkos' season last year.

The Lightning announced Thursday night that Steven Stamkos underwent surgery earlier in the day to repair a tear in the lateral meniscus of his right knee.
“Stamkos is expected to miss approximately four months,” the team said in a statement. “The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert LaPrade at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.” |

Knees (well, shins) are overrated. Some of history's greatest men have function perfectly fine without them.

I'm not sure Stolarz could've planned Operation Overlord, but FDR surely couldn't shut out the Detroit Red Wings |

Love me some Lindros, was a Rangers fan until the 97 playoffs just because they were my home state team, and as a young goalie at the time I loved Richter, but after that series I had to switch sides, the Flyers were just too much fun to watch. |

Bad news for Stolarz = good news for Lyon.
Hope Lyon can showcase a talent worthy of a shot in bigs. |

You just added to my argument. 3 or 4 point games were common because of the style of play and supporting casts. Mario and Gretzky were two of the best players of all time no matter when they played. The era in Which Lindros played held down his numbers. Like I said before mario was the best I saw play, and I saw him plenty. My OPINION is that if he or Lindros were healthy and played in the same cicumstances they would have comparable numbers. - twotoekenn
gretzky has more assists than #2 has points.......you can swap whomever you want, those numbers aren't being duplicated |

Not to mention that Gretzky routinely in his prime won the league scoring race by 60-80 points!

And I think if you put Gretz in any era he would have dominated.
I think Howe was like Jim Brown when he was mowing over 5'9' 160 white guys.
Just freaks of nature in a certain era.
Gretz was really an Alien playing hockey for fun.
I think he saw the game in slo-motion.

Sucks for Stolie. Was really hoping he'd get some games in this year.
Says a lot for what Hextall has done, depth-wise, that we have a quality young guy like Lyon, who will now own the net in LHV. I hope he's up to it, because Michael Neuvirth doesn't exactly have a great track record, health wise. Lyon could find himself in Philly before he knows it. |

I don't think there is anything close to Lindros right now. I don't see Lindros in Getzlaf's play. |
