He should have signed Moulson to 2-years @ $8 million per and we wouldn't be stuck with 5 X $5 million. Maybe 3 X $7 million and then he could have left last year with Gionta.

Lol yeah, his contract was purely about meeting cap floor. I'm sure he had offers from other teams to finish his career for 1 or 2 mil and Murray threw 4 mil at him. An unsung tank hero

The part that makes no sense is that Murray gave him term AND money. Give him one or the other. He was already slow and one dimensional before that contract was signed

You know damn well I have no problem with stats.

My problem is with the polynomial equations based on unjustifiable assumptions that some people call "advanced stats."

While I understand the reservations with bp, a lot of posters on here not saying you, were all over then gm Murray for getting neilson last year as back up. Halfway through the season there were some clamouring for him to be the starter over Lehner.

A lot can happen with a change of scenery maybe works out real well for him. Seems odd to write him off even before camp starts.

In my mind, Mike Wilson is hands down no questions asked #1 Defenseman in that bizzaro world group. He would've been a perennial Norris Trophy candidate. Weber would be paired with him.

So they gave him a chance, he couldn't play with top end talent so a roller hockey player pushed him down, then a fighter in lucic pushed him down even more, then management decided they have better prospects so they pay him to leave.

His biggest issue was that he always takes bad offensive zone penalties. Not just in Edmonton, thats just his calling card

He should not play with Top talent bc hes a frurstating offence killer. Hes a decent PK guy and a guy you put out for defensive zone starts on the 3rd line. Other than that, don't hope too much

I agree, he is a depth player nothing more. I'm hoping he has a career year here. I warned everybody I would blow a gasket if I had to read a blog from a talented writer trying to justify him in the top 6.

Murray destroyed Rochester, no players down there did well, but a few of them looked like they were close to full time spots when up here. I think our answer is within the organization and that player can step in this year.

I honestly would save up for a Jagr jersey if we did.
