Lefty ... your posts are usually grounded, particularly for a Canucks fan, however, comparing Bo Horvat (who has 49 goals, 117 points and is a -45 over almost three full seasons is baloney. Connor Brown's mumbers are much more comparable to Horvat's. except Brown has been more responsible defensively. Matthews had one of the most memorable rookie campaigns in recent memory out scoring many $10 million a year guys that were supposed to be elite team leaders.

It makes no sense to say you can't touch the Matthews line or the marner line because they are all returning, but you can change the kadri line. They're returning as well, so what makes them different?

You can't burry a solid 2 way forward who scored 20 goals on the 4th line. That is totally dumb. They're going to put komarov on the 4th line?

Like I said last year, to me Matthews > McDavid.

Not in points, but in overall games and eventual outcome in SC.

Matthews is as much of a generational talent as McDavid is, and stronger defensively imo.

McDavid is a 10/10 on offense, 8/10 defense
Matthews is a 9/10 on offense, 9/10 on defense

personally, I like Matthews better due to his hockey IQ in all situations, competitiveness, an ability to be more physical. McDavid obviously has amazing skating, hands, passing/scoring and offensive awareness.

Last season, there were a lot of plays where I felt Matthews held himself back in order to make sure no defensive errors were made by his line; thinking D-first. If he would be thinking offense first, he might have had 15 points more (but potentially Leafs not getting into playoffs).

For me the Leafs' best goal last season was actually Matthews goal vs Wsh game 6; apart from McDavid, Crosby I don't see alot of players pulling that goal off in that fashion..
