I guess...until he proclaims that his graph makes player A WAAAAAAAYYYYYY better than Player B because he gets .235344 more shots/hour regardless of linemates/comp.

Shot metrics are so accurate, consistently measured and free from bias... that we can use them to calculate "advanced" stats to within a 10th of a percent and then claim a few tenths of a percent makes a significant difference.

Advice needed:

Fridge that came with the house is no longer refrigerating. It's not under warranty anymore, and I don't have an invoice for the purchase, so I can't purchase an extended warranty.

Getting a guy to come in to look at it will cost $70, and then I'll have to pay for repairs on top of that.

Would you go the repair route, or upgrade?

I'm leaning towards upgrading, because at least then I'll have it under warranty, and if one thing has failed, there's probably a good chance more stuff will as well.

Upgrade.

In unrelated news, we have a brand new fridge that we need to sell. You'd have to pick it up from Edmonton though

(Basically, our fridge (frank)ed up while we were in the US. Buddy measured the opening and we bought a new one for cheap there and hauled it up.... only to find that our buddy can;t use a (frank)ing measuring tape and it's a couple of inches too tall... )

My buddy did the same thing...bought a bigger fridge because he supposedly had a buddy who was going to work on the cupboards to fit the fridge in...his fridge has been 3 feet out from where it's supposed to be for 2 years now.

Doesn't matter if he knows little about the sport....he's got a writing degree.
- Garnie

He actually doesn't.

He's got a degree in English literature.

Meaning he can read.

He sure as hell can't write.

What's the value of the current fridge (when operating properly)?

And the age?

Buy an American made fridge from the 60's/70's and it'll last forever.

No clue, and no clue.

I'd say the value is probably under $1000. It's a bottom-freezer unit(not french door), with no water dispense or ice maker.

Looking through my options, if I were to buy one, it'd probably run me 1800 after tax... but I'd have more features.

Funny story:

The Bob Rae NDP government decided (and rightfully so) that all the old, inefficient fridges were a terrible drain on Ontario Hydro. It would be better to pay people to help them buy new, energy-efficient fridges. So they offered up a healthy rebate on on new fridge purchases.

Except..

People bought new fridges, and took their old, energy-inefficient fridges and put them in their basements - so they were using 1.21 Gigawatts to cool a case of Extra Old Stock and some freezies from last summer's camping trip.

Whoops.

We had the similar thought, but the kitchen cabinetry was all done by an old-school cabinet maker so is really solid... I need to do some refinishing soon, but no way in Hell am I breaking some up!
