Be awesome if he is ready for opening night. That would be a winger they won't have to find.

That Staal trade has an interesting total.

Carolina traded Eric Staal, Dennis Robertson, Jake Massie and a 5th Round Pick for

Joakim Nordstrom, Teuvo Teravainen, Aleksi Saarela, Bryan Bickell, Valentin Zykov and Luke Martin

Oh man! That would be great having a full roster on opening night.

Pretty much all of them. It's not like there are any other Canes fans on this (frank)ing website.

(Or anywhere else, for that matter.)

Hurricanes and the Jackets fans should combine forces. All two of you could be a force.

Pretty sure I work with the only Canes fan in NJ.
You would think they won the cup when they beat the Rangers. What a loser.

I read a blog like this one, http://fulltiltnyr.com/ra...-maddening-search-center/, and I just don't understand what people are looking at

they say we have cap space and other teams don't and it puts us in a better position than most teams

how do we have cap space?

we have 3 million in space available, but only because we currently have a 21 man roster

once the roster is 23, no matter which guys fill it out, they'll probably be around 1 million available for a callup during the season

we have no cap space, we are just not in cap trouble that's all

I really think only about 10% of Ranger fans who look at capfriendly and see 3 million in cap space realize that's only with a 21 man roster (including Fast)

I let you guys figure that stuff out. Why I never talk about the cap. Still doesn't make sense to me.

Rangers have to have an opening night roster of 23 players (13 forwards, 7 defensemen and 2 goalies) with 3 million in space

right now, they are at 21 players (including Fast)

say they round out the roster with Andersson and Berzagalov....

they have cap hits of 925K each.

Leaves them with 1.25 mil in cap space on opening night

enough if one player gets sick and they need an emergency call up

And they would still have more fans than the Caps.

Got it. So almost every team wants that cushion of a million or so of cap space for injuries.

Unless the league allows you to bend the Rules. Like the Devils, Leafs, Red Wings and Blackhawks.
