You can say that without seeing them play this season?
They may be better than last season or they could be god awful.
My initial point being that Benning better not resign them before they hit the ice for a meaningful game.
Even if they have a great season, I don't mind floundering for another year or two with 2 second lines as players develope.

How about putting together a package and trading for a younger center instead? - VANTEL
I'd be for that. |

It's been a great time to be a Canucks fan the last 10 years. I don't care what happened when I wasn't born. People should suck it up for a few years and stop crying about everything. We will be competitive in a few years and win the cup by 2022 - CanuckDon
I don't consider the cups won pre-1967 to really count for much now, 6 teams, 2 playoffs series, I mean c'mon. Some of these jokers had day jobs for christ sake. Fawking lumberjacks, cobblers, swordsmiths during the day, and then play in the NHL at night.
I'd say 1974, when they expanded to 18 teams, that's when the competition & "modern" era truly started. The Habs dominance of the 70's, Isle and Oilers in the 80s, Red Wings, Devils, Nordiques/Avs in the 90's and then most recently Kings, Pens, Hawks, that's truly impressive. |

Those are real good points. Extending the Sedins now is mental, at least wait and see how the season plays out. IF they come back next year, we're more than likely still gonna be terrible again, with or without them, so I guess it really won't make a ton of difference, but if that's the case, why would THEY want to resign? |

Personally, I hope not. They & Linden are too close.

No, I would be disapointed if the decison was made before the start of the season. After xmas, sure, sign them for one year. I hope the Sedin's were being honest when they said they won't decide until after the season. |

I think I'd rather have the Sedin's on the roster than Linden as President |

Need to cut them loose like the Coyotes did with Doan. "Thanks for the service, but you're not on the team anymore. And here's a job in the front office" |

Always liked Philly's uni's and symbol...you guys need an Orca...lol - LordHumungous
Two things I've noticed this summer.
1) The fishing for kids in Haida Gwaii all the promo shots had the kids and players wearing the stick & rink jerseys.
2) The Canucks at informal skates & practices are all wearing stick & rink jerseys. |
