I thought we was just ok last year.. I think this year will be his first bad year. I hope it is... because, (frank) the Rangers!

How does BGHL compare to any of the Flyers current goalies?

No matter what they write my assumption is that really it's for the money

He knows when the puck is in his zone so already farther advanced.

Alright, so hear me out boys.

We all know that out current goaltending situation is, at best, questionable. I have no faith in Neuvirth, and I still consider Elliott a bit of an unknown in this system. Luckily, we already have the solution in house.

The main job of a goalie is to stop the puck. The secondary job of a goalie is to be able to handle the puck better than Bruno Gervais. The goalie lives in the defensive zone all game long except in cases where the goalie has to be pulled. So we need a guy to block shots, live in the defensive zone, and not be a complete trainwreck with the puck. For this reason, I say we make Andrew MacDonald our starting goalie.

Think about it. The #1 thing the guy is known for is blocking shots. The #2 thing he's known for is retreating into the defensive zone when the other team has the puck. And, generally speaking, he's adequate to slightly below average at moving the puck (clearing it on the PK is a different story). Give him some larger pads and his shot blocking should only increase.

This will be my first story for The Athletic.

King can be absolute garbage and the (frank)in Rangers will still likely have a team balanced enough to still be decent. Sucks!

The solution was to go with Mason, and have either Stolarz/Lyon be the back-up.

In a sick way I am curious to see the rage if only one of Hagg/Morin make the big club for the D.

I wanna see dem kids brah.

I can't believe you took the time to write all of this...

Even worse, I can't believe I read all of this...

If you're going to cover everything they intend to cover... which appears to be... everything, then the answer is simple: You need ALL the writers.

I have to say though, its getting really old, really quickly reading every writer's exposition on "WHY I'M WRITING FOR THE ATHLETIC."

- Doc_Sarcasm

i saw a couple of these today back to back on my TL, and i thought, "who gives a poop why you're writing for them? i don't need your story. maybe because you need a job?"

I can't believe we went from the possibility of Mason and Stolarz to Elliot and Neuvirth from the deadline to July 1st.

I get what they're trying to do - use "big names" to drum up business for the new venture but it reeks of desperation, imho.

I lost interest when I started to look into my "free seven day trial" and was first asked to register and provide my billing info. Which of course means when the site sucks and I don't want to read it any further, I must contact them to cancel.
Just hate the scam. Free should be free and if I THEN choose to purchase your product I will sign up and THEN provide my billing info.

Anyone who went into sports journalism "for the money", probably needs to either have their head examined or be forced to take a couple classes on economics.

And I can't believe no one has said anything nice about Rico in like a hour. This fan base...

Yeah but

If he's behind a pay wall that means I won't have to deal with him, since I'll be on the other side of the wall!
