I don't think Bo, Granlund and Boeser are soft at all - all those guys can take a hit, Granlund and Bo are actually pretty tough in the corners, Boeser's still a ? mark obviously, but as far as i can tell, he's no pu$$y.

I think there's lots of teams that have regular size (soft) 1Cs and are having success. Ottawa, Minnesota, Tampa, Calgary. And I don't think having the big power 1C like Getsclaf, Thorton, Scheifele is a pre-requisit to win.

Toronto cant afford him, unless its a 1 year deal, with a new Matthews/Nylander/Marner contracts that wont be cheap. Unless of course they trade one. I think he pulls a stamkos and stays on the island though

They'll basically have between 35-40mil from next year till 2019 to sign the main 3 kids. Which will be upwards of 25mil, then they have about 10-15mil left to fill 13 roster spots.

If we are taking JB at his word (which i don't really tbh), then it's good to hear that he'll make a spot on the team if any youngins force his hand, like he did with Stetcher last year.
