What Briere did at his size was amazing. He's usually listed as being 5'9", and even that seems generous.

I'm a shade under 5'7" and he wasn't all that much taller than me.

Creative visualization is one of the powerful things we can do as humns to make things happen that we want.

I don't think it can hurt, but if I sit around long enough and visualize myself being Earth Overlord, I doubt it will suddenly happen.

Ask, and ye shall receive!

Honestly, there really aren't a lot to choose from, especially from the 90s, those teams were huge, but here's what I came up with.

Just missed the cut:
Jordan Weal
Keith Acton

10. Arron Asham
Scrappy bugger, had a bit of skill too. Yeah, I know, but I like I said, there aren't a lot of guys to choose from. He'll probably get knocked off this list by Weal by mid season anyway.

9. Rob DiMaio
Guy played bigger than his size and scored a few big goals.

8. Travis Konecny
Had a solid rookie season last year and will likely be even better in 17-18

7. Scotty Upshall
Scored some big goals for the team and was a solid player during his time in Philly.

6. Kevin Dineen
Dineen was a good 2nd line RW during the early part of the Lindros era and a classy guy off the ice too.

5. Mike Richards
Yeah, things certainly didn't end well for his hockey career, but he was a good player in Philly and played some monster games for the Flyers.

4. Sami Kapanen
If you look up heart in the dictionary, you will see Sami Kapanen staring back at you. Sami gave every ounce of his being during every shift he took and was a fine 2 way player and penalty killer. Richards may have been a better player than Kapanen during their times with the Flyers, but I'll take Sami over him any day on my team.

3. Danny Briere
One of the Flyers all time great clutch scorers. If they had managed to win the Cup in 2010 he would have been a shoo-in for the Smythe Trophy and would have elevated himself to number one on this list, but sadly, it was not meant to be. Danny would disappear at times during the regular season, but when the playoffs started, he was a true superstar

2. Mark Recchi
Recchi was an offensive machine during his first stint here, and a very good all around player during his second. One mark against him though was his actions during the end of the Bill Barber coaching tenure, but that also applies to quite a few other players as well. All in all, he's one of the best pure players to ever wear the orange and black

1. Claude Giroux
By the end of the upcoming season, Giroux will have served as Captain longer than anyone in team history other than Bobby Clarke. He may end up finishing as high as 2nd on the teams all time scoring list and he was one of the best players in the NHL from 10-11 through 14-15 and is still as good as anyone in the league on the pp. Hopefully he will soon Captain the team to a Cup.

Well, there you have it, let the arguments begin!

“You always want to be the hero. Daniel Briere once told me that he’s always had success in the playoffs and that he visualized himself scoring goals, and I did that and I got the goal. Everybody can be a hero and you just take one shot… you need to think that way.”
- David Desharnais

Really enjoyed the results Briere got when he was here. Could be a very effective puck control guy in traffic and that was always fun to watch. Considering some of the guys he was going up against, it often looked like Briere was stickhandling through a forest.

He and Jake really have to bounce back this year or you guys are in trouble.

At least you have a lot of young talent.

Briere played with guts and grit much larger players could only dream of. He was always around the net and it the dirty areas of the ice. The slot, behind the net, in the crease.

Always ready to give you a little butt end of his stick in the gut. He bought time and space by acting like a wasp on the ice. If you got too close or too rough he would sting you but good.

I remember when the "big 3" free agents, Drury, Briere, and Gomez were all available at once. I didn't want Gomez at all, and felt Drury was the best fit. But it turns out they made far and away the best choice by targeting Briere.

See? The front office at that time did have a clue every now and then huh?
