I think one guy that people seem to dismiss very quickly could actually be a surprise this year.
Davidson.
Julien like him better than Beaulieu and he has an interesting skillset.
And your point about Emelin is valid. Hence why seeing Alzner up there is also a possibility. - Scabeh
Alzner would certainly work, but it's harder to find a partner for Petry than Weber, and in theory, Alzner appears to be the perfect fit there. But chemistry on paper doesn't always translate on the ice. If Alzner plays with Petry, my money is on Jerabek next to Weber. If Alzner ends up next to Weber, then I bet Davidson ends up next to Petry. They seemed to like playing together last year. |

The more I read comments by management/coaching, the more I think that both Galchenyuk and Drouin will get a chance. It's an interesting proposition anyways...
Pacioretty-Drouin-Gallagher
Lehkonen-Galchenyuk-Danault (who could take important draws)
Byron-Plekanec-Hemsky
Shaw-Mitchell-Hudon
As mentioned, the lines are fluid and will change. Interesting to see that if works (and that's admittedly a big if) the offense doesn't seem as low-end. |

I just don't see the point of playing Danault on the wing. that doesn't make any sense imo.
switch Danault and Chucky and you're probably very close to what will happen. |

They still have Franzen's contract, giving 2.5M$ in buyout money to Stephen Weiss, plus they're the team with the most NTC/NMC in the league. Just looking at their depth chart I gotta say they're gonna be bad for a while unless they draft the next Crosby/McDavid... |

MB would prefer a trade then go the offer sheet route.
I can't believe MB will start the season with all that cap space, people will be screaming for his head by Xmas |

Meh...the guy I wanted through an offer sheet was Draisaitl
Not sure it's very tempting to go after a guy who thinks he's the poop after one average season. - stinger67
6 mil or something for Wennberg could be interesting. Would solve a huge problem at centre. Jackets probably match though. |

People are already calling for his head...imagine if he was 3M$ over the cap and his team had missed the playoffs last season...

Hence why isn't likely happen, but would be interesting. Kekalainen seems to play hardball on contracts (Johansen). Wennberg isn't worth 6mil yet. |
