Can't believe Bergevin missed out on 36 year old potential bottom pair KHL defenseman Chris Lee. |

which teams have #2C who could be available?
EDM? CLB? NYR? MINN?
trying to trade/package Gallagher (or Shaw) here - fidopro
Nuge might not be available until next offseason. Nothing I think they could realistically get of value from the other teams.
After the coaches comments yesterday I'm thinking Drouin may have been the plan all along? Starting to think it will be Drouin, Danault, Plek down the middle with the long shot of Galchenyuk getting another kick at the can too (which I hope they do). Drouin and Galchenyuk down the middle looks good if they can play 200 feet and win draws. Danault could then move to second line LW.

Danault-Chucky-Lehkonen
Need the kids to progress though. Byron could force his way up too if he plays like he did last year. |

probably yes
I'm just not sure it will work though. Drouin played C just 1 season, 4 years ago in junior. I hope he succeeds, but I expect he'll end up playing RW, with Patch and Danault.
I'm looking for a #2C to center Lekhonen and Chucky. |

Danault will stay at center, Galchenyuk will end up on the wing, let's see how the Drouin experiment at center works out.

not too worried. if Emelin was able to do it... - fidopro
He wasn't, which is why Markov took his spot. |

Je me répète : they said so in the first 24h hours after the trade ( that Drouin would have a shot at center) |

It's just good to hear the coach say it. Drouin seems like a driven guy and hopefully that means he's making playing C a goal. |

Looks like it will be Drouin or Danault at this point. Although I'm clearly more supportive of Danault than most.
Maybe Drouin wanted the shot at center? His comments from yesterday show he at least understands the importance of the role. Plus he said it gives the player more options. I wonder if he asked for the opportunity. |

You may be right but I have a feeling CJ liked what he saw from Lek during the playoffs and will play him in the top 6 more often than not. |

pretty irrelevent imo.
there's really not a big difference in 5on5 TOI between line #2 and line#3.
for 16-17, beside Patch and Radulov who played 15+ mins per game (even strength), all the others played +/- 13 mins |

The thing about Lek is that even if he doesn't put up points consistently, he can still play big minutes in a "shut down" role.
That's why I see him playing with Plek and I'm quite sure Plek wil lbe slightly better than last year and that duo will only improve offensively. |
