ya I struggle with this too

I also worry about the shoulder abuse he has taken in the past but jimbo is right its nothing like Staal/G.. well yet, cant forget about the head shots either

Put me in the camp of I would give him a 5-6 year deal and maybe a little more per year to stay away from an 8 year deal

- mrn22

I think McDonagh hurts our own guys more than he gets hurt, the bastard

Yeah, that would be good. Also I hope they go the same route with Skjei like they did with McDonagh and pay him long term at the end of this year or better yet, extend him in season if he is having another good year.

Thank god he's not injuring someone important like Staal...

butt hurt much?
- DDM-Coga

Kreiderbomb is more of an 'in the mouth' type of guy, and rumor has it that's because he has no feeling left in his butt. Weird, but true.

The most obvious worst Rangers trade from 1995 forward, was the trading of Sergei Zubov, combined with it also being their second worst trade since 1963, trailing only the trade of likely potential 40G/40A "kid" scoring forward, Rick Middleton for an "elderly" in comparison then, Ken Hodge, as thee #1 worst one overall. Although even of more important value as a d'man in contrast, would any Rangers fan want to trade "kid", Brady Skjei for today's equivalent to a minimum 10 years older, Ken Hodge?
Hopefully, Zubov's role has finally been replaced by Shatty as their right handed back liner to lead the way offensive wise. But even back then, as for some who primarily have fears defensive wise with Shatty, that was the same likewise for some back then with Zubov, more so than appreciating what his needed offensive benefits were for this team. After all, there was and only will be ONE Bobby Orr ever in the game to play on any side of the back line.

Although also an "Original Six" team in the Red Wings, for the obvious reasons, including the 1972 Cup Finals, it would have been more fitting if Ratelle's honors were on a home game night when they would be playing against the Bruins.

Kings Receive:
Ray Ferraro
Mattias Norstrom ( future Captain of Kings )
Ian Laperierre
Nathan Lafayette
4th round pick

Rangers get :
washed up Jari Kurri
washed up Marty McSorley
Shane Churla

Easily the worst trade ever for Rangers in my opinion. Jan---- you failing to mention that Norstrom became the youngest captain in Kings franchise history proves how forgetable and regretable this trade truly was. Truly awful.........

- TommyGTrain

The most remembered on the Rangers end of that trade, was Shane Churla breaking his own fingers or a hand or two, in what seemed like almost every fight he was involved in here.

yeah, I agree

who knows how these things are worked out though, maybe that's when Ratelle's schedule was best too

interestingly, Feb 25th is the same night as the closing ceremonies of the Olympics, and the date of the gold medal game

I can tell you what the worst trade of the future will be....whatever they end up trading Kreider for
- TPC

Even if it included a special gift from the Rangers, given personally to you, "TPC", in free Ellios Pizza for life, instead of Papa John's only on the day after the Rangers score 3 or more goals in a game, for whatever the special benefit it is in that case?
Or should Kreider, on whatever day of the future near the end of his career, bring us in return trade wise the next young Ryan McDonagh?

You're right. Retiring his number isn't enough. They should put up a bust of him at the Garden, too.
You're starting to come around!!

he's likely getting ~2M per on a 1 or 2 year deal. Is he worth 2M for us?

I really don't know, but I do know he scored 15 goals in 18 KHL playoff games last year

he looks like a total nut bag
