All of those guys could work. But non of them are sure thing quality 3c. Eakin is the only one that has the potential to be a good 3c but he's coming off a bad year. Why did he have a bad year? Did he get paid and then got lazy? Legit possibility. His larger sample size says he can fill the role. But he's already paid. So unlike a guy whose ufa and needs to have a good year to get a contract he won't have that motivation.

It's why I keep coming back to a hockey trade centered on hornqvist. Other option is to trade sprong. Those are the only assets we have to get a stud 3c.

Ive said it before. Love Eakins game, all about him in a Pens uni. He's not lazy. As the article stated he had a putrid shooting % last year so that's a big factor. The Stars as a whole were a bit of a mess last year. Only 26 and signed for 3 more years, so cost controlled. Get it done GMJR.

I totally agree with Winnik. I don't see Bonino as being much better than him, if at all.

EDIT: I brought up Ribeiro here before and most thought he was too much of an A-hole.

Ribeiro at least has an upside. Our locker room is strong enough to deal with him. I dunno, it would be worth a PTO in my opinion. Would make a fine 4C.

Doubt he gets a shot with the Pens. Mario wouldn't want that type of individual sullying the good name of the Pens.

I don't know what Eakin had such a terrible year. Was he hurt? Who knows and that make me nervous about him. I also know very little about Haula.

I've only seen Haula play a handful of times but he always looked good to me

So...Laich's still hoping to play for someone. Supposedly he's healthy now. Could it hurt to PTO him? I can think of worse players who are still playing. To see him in a Pens Jersey even if he's a dud would be worth it just to irk Caps fans.

Ya well the issue is he has a contract paying him for hike peak performance and he regressed last year. No clue on whether last year was an abberration; but since he's paid for peak performance that causes a problem.

How does that cause a problem when he's only getting 3.85 a year for the next 3 seasons? It's also very possible that Vegas could retain salary.

He's not regressing...and he's only 26. Had an extremely bad shooting % and the whole team didnt play to par last year.

If you get a 12 pt player for 3.85 million its a huge waste of resources even if you only give up a 7th round pick for him.

How can you possible argue he didn't regress last year. Maybe its just shooting; maybe its something else. I agree he's intersting, but he's paid the same as bonino who had a good year last year. And we could have signed him for nothing.

If they retain then this could work out quite well. No retention is eakin is pure risks.
