Would probably need to be higher to keep wings from matching. I would make a play for him though.

Hey, if the Wings match, then no harm done. If they don't, only costs a 3rd. But remember, Detroit needs to shed some salary, not add it.

I don't know their cap situation but I'd be willing to give up more than a third for him.

I wouldn't. He's got great speed and is a decent scorer, but there have been some serious knocks about his level of interest away from the pucks and his intensity level on a night-in/night-out basis. Not saying he's Yakupov or Zherdev, but he's still a bit of an uncertainty.

Congrats! I was able to snag 4 tickets for the rookie game, however, there is a chance I can't make the game anymore due to work. I'll try to find out soon, but if I can't make it I'll gladly forward the email with the tickets for you and the family

The Wings cap page has so many bad contracts that it's hard to look at.

Not only bad, but long-term. It really resembles the 14/15 Flyers page, but even worse.

I see a guy that maybe just is being used in a role not suited for him. I don't have all the numbers in front of me but I think he made the most of his low ice time. Maybe I'm just impressed with his speed and that is just what the flyers need.

This is a constant topic on 97.1 the Ticket in Detroit and has been for years. There have been many times on this board where some people who post here bow to Ken Holland. Any success Holland has had after the cap was installed comes from leftovers from the pre cap era. Example, Datsyuk was young in 2002 when he won a Cup on an All-Star team and was on a cheap deal. Since lesser talents since Yzerman, Shanahan, Hull and Fedorov have come in and it seems like Holland became less capable of negotiating properdeals with lesser players.

In my opinion Holland never moved forward from the pre cap era.

Speaking of which, the pronunciation of QDOBA is bullpoop.

If they pronounce the "Q" as the letter, then, since it's all one un-hyphenated word, then all 5 letters should be pronounced as letters, not as a word (or partial word). And ditto for the reverse.

It should either be pronounced "CUE-DEE-OH-BEE-AY" or "KWu-Doh-Ba."

I never noticed it until someone asked me if I wanted to go there, and I was shocked at how it was pronounced. Now, whenever I think about the place, all I can think of is how the name is pronounced.

I'm an 85-year-old trapped in a 34-year-old's body.

I don't want to see you die on this hill. You know I swore an oath I'd take care of your family if anything should ever happen to you. But I have to say, it would really be an inconvenience.

It isn't that hard. The kid gets fed every 8 hours, but it shouldn't be too long before he can get on the same twice a day diet as the wife. Just make sure to let them out once in a while to stretch their legs.

Peter Forsberg is my all time favorite hockey player. All time favorite athlete really. When he was signed here, it was honestly a dream come true. Being able to see him play in person three times was a honor I'll never forget. There hasn't been anyone else that I've enjoyed watching more than #21. He was an absolute artist on the ice, the most creative and competitive player that I've ever seen. He had more hockey to play than his body let him.
