Read the blog, like the direction the Leafs are heading in, but kinda like I do with Edmonton, can't help but wonder if the Leafs might take a step back this season.

I think there is always hesitation. Especially when you are fans of teams that have been really bad for a long time. But honestly I think both teams will continue stepping forward or maintaining their progress from last year. Unexpected things can happen, but hard to predict them. The best players for both teams are generally the younger guys who can and should keep improving.
I tend to agree with the blog's message. The additions should be important for not only what they will be doing on the ice, but their influence in other areas. Creating a nice mix of skills and experience levels that should hopefully create a strong and positive team.
