Not sure why anyone would want to go through him, when they can just step around him.

Lars Eller and Max Pacioretty would'nt

I think McCarron is better offensively, better hand around the net. He's bigger and can fight when needed (even if that's less needed nowadays)

DLR is alot faster.

Question is if McCarron has improved his speed this summer.

- Fredobbface

DLR is better than McCarron. He just is.
DLR will make the team and surprise this year.

You know what's harder to get through than Mono and Strep throat?

Shea Weber.

Aside from last year with the hip injury limiting him to 15 games, Hemsky has been a regular at roughly 70gp and 30-35 pts per season while playing very limited pp minutes. The issue with him is more a defensive liability which is why his best years in Edmonton were next to Horcoff (2 seasons of 70pts). For both of those reasons(offensive ability and defensive liability) I hope he lines up next to Byron-Plekanec instead of Shaw.

This makes sense.

And the fact I despise Andrew Shaw has nothing to do with it.

Depends if Hemsky's hip can still keep up. He would be safer starting on the fourth line and surprising teams. 5 months off for surgery isn't easy to rebound from at 34. Plus, he hurt it again at the end of the year. Imo, better off to put Shaw there and hope that line stays healthy. They will be a decent 3rd line.

How about RNH?
- deadpoulet

Depends on the price. Chia likely wants a lot for the former 1st overall pick. But he looks like a soft second line C at this point. Not sure that's a huge improvement over Drouin or Galchenyuk trying to earn second line C.

If RNH isn't dealt at the deadline then I think Chia would have to take what he can get before the 18-19 camp. I wouldn't complain if Montreal got him for a reasonable amount but I wouldn't want to see Poehling or Ikonen and a first dealt for him. Just not a huge fan of RNH, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

Your point makes sense, I just think that if Hemsky can bounce back, Habs have a dangerous third line. If not healthy, and on a fourth line, he's useless. Might as well play both McCarron and Hudon in that case. Again though, these are pre-camp ideas. Time will tell.

I was told today that Marner battled both Mono and Strep throat last year so....good luck in that division!!!
- yemrots

For sure. If he's healthy and can keep up then 3rd line and maybe even some PP time. I'm just not the most optimistic about his ability to remain healthy at all. Hopefully he works out.
