To be honest, if we really want to compare the two, Kostitsyn played his first full season at 23 years old. Scherbak is 21.

Both players have a tendency to float, but Kostitsyn was little bit more solid, less easy to push over. Physical play isn't Scherbak's forte, and he seem to have a hard time finding his game now that he can't dangle around defenders like he used to in junior.

Still, he had a good second season in the AHL, while playing a few games in Lefebvre's doghouse (4th line or healthy scratch sometimes).

I think he would benefit from a coaching change down there (they would all do), apparently it's not going to be the case.

On skates while wearing high heels and carrying Price's hockey bag.

He doesn't make a line bigger. He also hasn't cracked 20 goals yet... so let's not get carried away thinking he's gonna score 30

He makes a line bigger if you compare him to Byron...he's still no midget.

He played 1 full season on a line with Plekanec and almost cracked 20 goals...which is pretty damn good.

Plus, wasn't he struggling with Chris Higginsitis early in the season?

He had a slow start but improved throughout the season. Was probably the 2nd best forward during the playoffs behind Radu.

I think this is the most encouraging thing about him.

He kept on improving and was at his best at the end of the season.

No reason to believe he won't keep improving next season.

I like him.

If they need 3rd pairing D, Habs have about 4 extras...

A LW that can play RW and can actually (frank)ing play.

Would slot in perfectly on the 2nd line with Chucky at center.
