Netflix is king. I've had it for years and never run out of stuff to watch. Constantly updating documentaries, dozens of shows. Great B-caliber disaster movies

I get a crumb here and there

Trading for JT before training camp is a pretty big crumb

I have a Roku and two Roku sticks.
I use Plex on the Roku.
Trying to cut cable but it looks like I'm still going to get hammered with their internet costs.

So Sling is $20 for cheapest version and my internet bill will probably hit $79 for Blast.
So I'm barely saving anything.

PV is $40
DirectTV Now is $35

I found myself surfing more than watching when my ex was using that.

Netflix uses an algorithm to determine which content to show you, so it was probably showing what they thought your ex would like. There's some hidden gem shows on there (penny dreadful) and a bunch of really good BBC miniseries (Jonathan strange and Mr norrell). I locked in in like 2008 and they don't Jack up the prices on long time subscribers. I think I pay like 9.50

One opinion.

Tons of research on this, but I still haven't pulled the trigger, though.

I have a Roku Stick up in my bedroom and it does the job.

I run my Cable TV through a PC in my living room. I am thinking of switching from that to a Roku Ultra or a Nvidia Shield. The Roku is $70 cheaper, but the Shield has more capability of more apps. I don't really use any of them, but if I ever wanted to expand, the Shield seems to allow more flexibility.

I have the Roku Premier+, which is the model that has an ethernet jack. I guess it's not super important, but might be to some who either don't have a great router or the ability to broadcast 5GHz.

Through the Roku, I then have access to Amazon video, Spectrum (TWC) channels, Netflix.. A cool feature is the Screen Mirroring ability. That way, I can hit up reddit for my NHL streams. Just my 2 cents.

As in jailbroken? My buddy did that. Basically unlimited free content of all types. Until your ISP sends you a cease and desist

You can get around this by using a VPN installed on the Kodi/Firestick.

1) Get usenet (or other newsgroup service) to download shows/movies in HD/bluray quality, often before they are available for purchase. $10 month

2) Install sickbeard to automatically download shows for you FREE

3) Raspberry pi running kodi $35 for the pi

For local channels you could buy a small antenna and get an HD Home Run to watch them. I pull in channels as far away as Toronto. You can also get a cable card from the cable company.
