I think its a fair ranking; I think he has the potential to be a top 3 Center in the league in a year or 2.

I don't agree that McDavid is already > Crosby.
I'm not a Crosby fan per sé, but I think he's still a more complete player, and in particular the winning 2 SC in last two years does warrant him being listed as #1 still..

I agree.
I know this list is based on recent stats and not overall accomplishments but even then, Crosby accomplished more than McDavid, last year. No big deal though... they are both the top players in the game.

One guy was actually shocked that Matthews was ranked over Eichel! Apparently, it's because he plays for Toronto.... yup... has nothing to do with the 40g and the Calder. Got love the hate... and I like Eichel too.

It would be hard for me to leave Matthews off one of top 4 lines, I would more likely remove Malkin from one of the top 4 lines.

Kopitar won two cups and was the best forward on the Kings for those two years. He finished 15th and 16th in scoring in those two years. To some extent these lists contain an element of subjectivity. Personally, Monahan is a very good player, is he better than Duchene, MacKinnon, Kadri or Spezza? I am not so sure. For me Eichel may not belong in the top ten, but he will be there soon enough. What is more useful in the era of the Salary cap is to relate salary to performance. Last year Kopitar's $14 million salary (and $10 million cap hit) for a 55 point season would be hard to justify regardless of those two cups. The other issue clouding this rating is how good the team is that the player is on. Eichel is on a poorly run team, that may change soon. Kopitar was the fourth highest salary in the NHL, was tied for 39th in scoring (among centres - but list includes Marner and Nylander as centres which they were not) Hard to like Kopitar at $14 million better than Eichel at what he makes even if you are completely blind.

Love this hit because of how much Johnny Hockey whines and cries in the games against the Leafs. Had that hit coming. haha

Owner of the Sabres/Bills is a dumpster fire. He may have saved the Sabres from bankruptcy but he now probably pays more salary to ex-gms and coaches than any other owner. Hard to see the Sabres improving consistently and over the long haul while he is there. Hard to choose the worst owners in the NHL right now, list would include Aquilini, Pegula and Karmanos for sure.

I loved it too!, I would like to see Babcock/Leafs try Komarov at RHD. Would have no issue with hitting/clearing out the garbage in front of Andersen. And he was among the best/most reliable defensive players on the team in recent years.

I would agree with you. Great player, even better in the playoffs. Size and skill, for me - I would have him in the top 5.

At the time, I thought, that douchebag Marchand should be suspended for a month for this spear, but after that lowlife Dotchin tried to injure Matthews with the obvious knee on knee, I hope someone takes this pr!ck out this season. If they do, I will do a jig around the room. For now this will have to do.
