That could also qualify for best passing play. - BlueBallz
But there was also that one time that he didn't challenge and should have. That might be the worst pass... |

I don't love any of the moves, but I don't think that there's any long term damage. Mainly I'm pretty convinced that the third year of the Marleau contract is gonna be locked out, so it won't count much (and with just $1m-ish remaining after 07/01, clearly the Leafs brass agree).
What about you? |

i like the marleau signing less and less everyday. First year should be not terrible value.idk after that.
I'm hoping moore stabilizes our 4th line from the get go and hainsey is an upgrade over hunwick.
I expect the biggest growth to be organic. |

Agreed.
I wish that we'd get rid of Martin because a Hyman - Moore - Sosh fourth line would be money. As for MArleau, he'll be an upgrade next year. I think he'll be fairly neutral the second year. Afterwards is meh. Hainsey is also kinda meh, but when we had Polak and Hunwick last year it surely can't be worse, and Hainsey came off a playoof campaign where he got a cup playing top line minutes. |

Some awesome passing plays to choose from. Looks like I was in the minority as I voted for the first Marner pass to Bozak in Florida.
It was just such a ridiculous recovery when the puck wasn't where he needed it, but he still manages to get the puck right onto Bozak's stick at the opposite side of the crease.
He didn't even really look to see where Bozak was, he just knew where he should be and got it perfect. Such a sick play.
I think the Matthews to Komarov was also pretty amazing and I just laugh every time I see that replay when Komarov pats Orpik on the shoulder lmao! Komarov's awesome!
The Kapanen goal and pass from Boyle was also pretty nice. Bowen's reaction was priceless. I don't see how he could've been any more pumped. |

I think we just need to temper expectations with Marleau. As long as he can produce around 20 goals and hopefully a similar number of assists then I'll be happy. I really do believe the main purpose for him being brought in is about giving our young guns a good role model.
He still is a good player, but he's not likely going to be flirting with a ppg pace or getting over 30 goals or something.
While some people worry about the third year, I guess I just have enough trust in this management group that I believe they have already planned things out. TITS.
P.S. I also agree our best chance for improvement is from within. Our young players have room to grow and we have a lot of decent defense prospects now. Some of them won't work out, but likely at least a couple will turn into decent players for us. |

I said this earlier....."How could the JVR flip the puck over the blue line goal not be in the best goals top 5?" Well guess what? It could be the best assist as well! To Himself.... |

Good point, it is a pretty amazing pass too. That was one of the best players of the year throughout the league. |
